Dec 27, 2017 But it is just because Beyonce. I'm not saying he doesn't respect her. But I mean her for that song... it's random. Dido's sample for example was not random, it inspired the concept, he didn't just pick a big name to sing the hook and make the song big. Which is what he does now. Because at first - Porter tried to make it Adele. Then they couldn't get her so asked Beyonce. That's literally just asking huge names, it's meaningless that it's them. It's not some s--- they come up with together, it's just because of who they are and their name. It's for a hit.
Dec 27, 2017 You're wrong, Beyonce was suggested by Jay-Z. Stan is actually a perfect example of how he still makes songs and it also shows that the way he picks music hasnt changed, he himself had changed.
Dec 27, 2017 I hope this shows how his staff is incompetent and makes them sure to bring out a decent rollout next time
Dec 27, 2017 Yeah but it doesn't matter. Whether it was Jay Z or whoever, what difference does that make? That's a moot point to the point I am making - that it's not authentic, from Em's side. It's suggestions and money grabs. Jay or whoever can make up whatever bs thing they want as justification as why Beyonce is on it; Adele was attempted first - even though, the song was written by Skylar... that right there is the sign that they are actively looking for a big name female singer, for a hit, to sing this. That's not authentic. That's not integrity driven. That's ''let's find a hit'' driven / ''let's make this thing, into a hit, with this person''. And that's what Em has been doing since 2010 now. "Stan" was a by chance thing where he heard the hook and it inspired a story/concept, and Dido was not a big star yet, when they used that sample... that sample use is one of the things which propelled her in the US in particular; so an argument can't be made it was a hit chase, it was authentic. If that was nowdays, Mr Porter or Paul would probably """Suggest""" a 'great idea' that Pink or Britney Spears sing that hook. "Sing for the Moment" was something he had always wanted to sample since a kid. That's authentic. All these recent pop features is just him chasing hits. Using a formula to exploit an easy way onto the charts. It's completely different and it's ruining the f--- out of his albums and legacy. It's cheap and tacky.
Dec 27, 2017 But for Walk on Water a star of that status is justified equally. The whole point of the song is that he, and the one who sinfs it as well, is the biggest stars on earth to say they are vulnerable and that they are not gods. The biggest money grab on the album is actually Ed Sheeran, but even that song is great. Monster was a major cash grab as well. Edit: I do actually agree with what you're saying though, but in al honesty i dont think all of these are cash grabs simply because they are big names.. Em himself gave Skylar a platform because he didnt want her to just write hooks and never get her name out.
Dec 27, 2017 Yeah but the thing is... Whenever Em does these collabs or pop songs now... he's almost always rapping about fame or some kind of love relationship. Two things, which fit any big star anyway. As they're either really famous (Monster) or have been in a relationship. Like, yeah Beyonce can relate to that, so can almost anybody. It's just broad, so they can apply it to anybody to justify the cash grab. But Skylar wrote it, so if it's about the content and the artist... why wouldn't Skylar sing it? Because they knew it was a single, or decided to make it one, and said "Hey let's get Adele." ... "No?...Okay Beyonce then". It's meaningless, that's truly how pop stars work. No integrity in that s---. With Ed... it's a bit more authentic because he is a huge Em fan, and said he had that concept as his dream idea to do with Em, but from Em's team it's just cash grabbing again I think. Because they just emailed him and said submit ideas. So they're just reaching out to the hugest names and asking for ideas, so they can have an excuse to put EMINEM AND ED SHEERAN. It's so cheap. He's become a product. A puppet of Paul, Interscope, whoever, I don't know. It's just sad.
Dec 27, 2017 Low hype plus s-----y album doesn't mean a 67% decrease in album sales, when it's Eminem. People got pissed with the Trump thing and the general rollout. That's why worldwide it's still going strong but it's falling off in the US (lack of a rap culture worldwide is also reason but still,). Majority of Eminem's US fans are hillbilly Trump supporters. Whites. They aren't exactly gonna jump at a weak Trump bashing album by someone who's not been seen in 4 years and blacks aren't gonna bump this s--- that much either cause there's many anti-Trump songs out there that are better. Sonically and lyrically.
