    Anyone else think it's weird how ESPN (and other news sources) make a big deal about one girl's death, only because she played collegiate sports?

    Yeah, cancer is devastating for her family and teammates, but people die all the time. No one (practically) knew her name before today and now she's trending on Twitter. They even got a quote from LeBron about her. Like LeBron cares.

    Yeah it happens in every sport. It's sad when such tragedy occurs young to aspiring athletes. A cricket player in Australia died when he was hit in the side of the head underneath the helmet with a cricket ball. It made a pretty big impact on the sport and everyone involved in the culture.

    My heart stopped beating for a moment when I read Lauryn Hill died... Then I re-read it and realized it's a sports section and it's not Lauryn Hill but Lauren Hill.

    I have no idea who she was but RIP anyway.
