May 2, 2018 Regardless of the 4 to 15 ratio of good writing on Ems recent albums he's still a top tier artist...even Ems cringe stuff is better than anything these mumble rappers put out
May 2, 2018 You can say his writing output in the present is inefficient or inconsistent, but if his writing at peak is unbelievably good or brilliant, then it's dismissive to just say that his writing is dogshit and he isn't good at it anymore. Em is good at writing still, he just isn't as reliable and consistent as before. Also. the case of those cringey lines isn't half as simple, it's Em trying to experiment with puns, create witty humour, exaggerated metaphors that end with a conclusion etc, etc. Not every artist does that and usually takes the safe lane with flow, rhymes, lyrics in general that are laid pretty straightforward. Though EM's dad jokes on Revival were awkwardly cringy and embarrassing
May 2, 2018 People really exaggerate some of Em’s cringey s--- whilst completely dismissing all his great writing. No other artists gets scrutinised for his bars as much as Eminem does. There are a fair few cringey puns/examples of lazy writing on Revival (other than Recovery probably his worst for that) but then you’ve got the genius s--- like Believe, Castle & Arose; Chloraseptic & Untouchable has a lot of really slick writing too. A lot of great writing on other tracks, regardless of the issues of delivery/production etc It’s like everything has to be perfect from him, and then when it is, no one appreciates it because it’s Eminem and that’s just his standard. Plus not every bar has to have a meaning & be perfect etc. That’s impossible lol Like I’ve literally seen people dismiss Bad Guy’s 4th verse solely because of the clogged toilet/talking s--- line. Imagine that If you don’t think the the writing on Arose/Believe (esp. third verse) is that of an incredible lyricist then...lmao
May 2, 2018 Possibly. This is his 2nd verse that he's wrote since after Revival dropped. Royce said he knew the scrutiny that Em was under from the reception Revival got so he wanted to give Em the chance to get on this song and "go in" So I guess you could say that this is Em's chance to redeem himself and he knows it now.
May 2, 2018 If this song actually came out good, could be why S1 tweeted that comment. Maybe he's lead producer on next album.
May 2, 2018 theres definitely not "few" cringey lines on that revival album lol Thing with Eminem is s--- that isn't good is SO bad that's why people make a big deal about it , it's either good with him or straight embarassing. No other artist like that
May 2, 2018 Yeah obviously more than a few lol. And some are straight embarrassing..although his sense of humour plays a part in it, he finds a lot of ‘dad jokes’/puns hilarious thus incorporates them in his raps. But a lot of the time there’s no place for them and it ruins it. Especially when he adds in the ‘get it’ in the background lmao
May 2, 2018 That’s a good point but I feel like this time it’s different cuz he needs to do it now more than ever
May 2, 2018 Not sure if it’s being over hyped but d--- my hype level is high right now. Really hoping this delivers
May 2, 2018 Yo, we’re hyping this too much. Don’t expect 1999-2003 greatness. Just be happy if this man puts out a good verse
May 2, 2018 If a line is so bad that it literally gives me those embarrassed goosebumps then why can't or wouldn't I be able to dismiss an entire song? That is literally a song killer. Same with that sausage flying out of his a--- but on MMLP2.
May 2, 2018 I still don’t get the hate for the talking s---/backing it all up line. Like that’s a actual saying, if you’re talking a lot of s---, you better be ready to back it up.
