Glad to see there's quite a bit of runners here. I currently run six days a week about 3-6 miles depending on the day. Initially I started running for anxiety relief, but it's something that I've come to love. My friend and I are considering running a half-marathon later this year.Mimi, Loyalty, Ordinary Joel and 1 other person like this. -

Ok a few of you may have known that I broken my foot mid October last year (same bone as Joel Embiid lol). I've recovered well and theres a good chance that I'll be taking a few running drills to get back in shape in a week or so. I can't wait and I'll be checking into this thread.Ordinary Joel, Mimi, Nori and 1 other person like this. -

I missed my 11 and 12 miles runs, so unless I miraculously get back to 100% and get a few short runs in, my half marathon on Sunday will be rough

I haven't been running or hooping much for the past few weeks. I played for the 1st time in 2 weeks yesterday and felt slow as h---, so I need to get after it a bit more this week. 2 miles after the Bulls game it is.Ordinary Joel, Nori, Jakey and 1 other person like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

I had major knee surgeries back in 2006 and 9 months post op the pain in my left knee was unbearable. My orthopedic surgeon recommended a cortisone shot and said to give it 3 weeks. I didn't feel amy improvement whatsoever until like exactly the 3 week mark. The knee pain was gone and never came back. Also, squatting is great for knee health/pain.
TLDR- Give it more time and squat.Poohdini, Mimi, Loyalty and 1 other person like this. -

Hi guys. Just finished an 8 mile run in the 40 degree weather. That's freezing for Arizonans
9:41 pace which isn't bad, trying to get closer to 9:00 though for my half marathon. Had to stop to tighten my shoelaces a lot on my new Nikes so that slowed me down a bit. I'm paranoid I'm gonna trip over my laces, cuz I actually did a week ago and cut up my hand pretty bad.
I'm also at 50.8 miles this month - which is the most I've had in a month since Nov 2012
thanks. Did you end up getting yourself some running stuff? There's bound to be some good Black Friday deals (although I don't think you live in the states so idk if you have deals like that). Those shoes look awesome. And I like the black shorts better btw!

You should def focus on school anyway. Love the medals too, good collection so far. I'm still sitting at 1, til my half in January:
I forgot about this threadI've been running steadily all month, I think I'm at about 25 miles for September. Not too much, because it's still 100+ degrees here and I have to run outdoors. Can't wait for it to cool down.

Wow it's been a while guys. I don't think I ever followed up with you, but anyways here it goes. After my MRI which stated that I had a torn meniscus and bursitis in the same knee, I went to a sports medicine specialist. He twisted my knee and reviewed my MRI with me and said he didn't see anything. Told me that if my meniscus was torn I woulda felt some serious pain the way he was messing with my knee. I thought something was off too since my knee which was supposed to have bursitis wasn't swollen or anything. Anyways that was beginning of September. He told me to keep weight off it for a month, so no more leg press, calf extensions and heavy lifting. Ended up taking it easy somewhat and knee started to feel better but every time I went to my produce job where I have to pick up 50 pound sacks of potatoes and s---, my knee would flare back up. After about a month of debating whether I wanna ball out and not be able to run, or budget and run happily again, I went with running. Turned in my two weeks notice about two weeks ago and today's my last day on the job. School's been much harder this semester anyways and there's no way I coulda pulled off 40+ hours and full time school. Especially with the kind of classes I'm taking now. I'll probably just focus on my core and keep in the gym for October, then try running again in November. Really excited to see what happens. Here's a picture of my two medals I was just looking at, looking at them reassured me I made the right choice =]

I thought about D Rose when the doc told me what it was lmao. Glad to hear you're ankle came back %100. I had originally done physically therapy so I don't mind it tbh, I'm more than willing to put in the work. I'm a pretty active dude between school and work. One of my jobs involves somewhat heavy lifting (50 pounds max) so idk if I should just find another one instead. I only put in 15 hours a week there anyways. I got my brace on and everything but I don't wanna make it any worse. I stopped going to the gym too =\
I had been going and doing bike/elliptical
Appreciate the support though. Hopefully soon I'll be able to say:

I was super depressed about it yesterday but I'm going to a sports medicine doctor on Wednesday so I'm really happy about that. I guess he's gonna look at the MRI and go from there but the most probable outcome is surgery if I wanna run again, not to mention my knees been burning on and off for the past 6 months so it's also getting in the way of everyday activities. I just hope they can sew it back, if the tear is too bad or in a bad spot they'll just cut the bad part out. I'll run again but I'll have problems when I'm older, but the recovery will be like 1-2 months. If they do manage to sew it back together then that'll be even better since it'll be like nothing happened for the most part, but the recovery for that is longer and takes like 4-6 months
Either way, I'll keep you guys posted, thanks for the supportFinal, The Product, Ordinary Joel and 1 other person like this.
