Oct 21, 2015Oh wow, if people powerwalk it then yeah, I'm sure I would be fine! I was considering doing the TCS Amsterdam one last year but even then still didn't feel confident enough. I just need to find some people irl who enjoy running and will push me into it.
How is the stamina going, what is your training schedule like? Great that the weather is becoming easier to run in, it makes such a difference. But it's a tricky balance, dont want it too hot or too cold, I dont know about you but my fingers and toes get painfully cold in winter.
Oh Nori, I'm so sorry to hear. That is a ridiculous amount of money, I hope your parents aren't too blown away, at least 4000 is no where near as bad, still a bit, but a lot more doable.
We'll keep running for you

Officially starting my half-marathon training today, a week early. I figure if I post my run in this thread it'll make it official, and I won't back out and put off training til next week (like I've done 3 weeks in a row).
My iTunes is kinda messy
Not the best run, but it felt pretty good considering it was 92 degrees out still.Nori, Mimi and Ordinary Joel like this. -

Depends on how active and what your everyday activities are, but you should be okay even if they choose to cut the torn piece out. Surgery/rehab sucks but as long as you go hard and stick to it you'll be back to 100%. I broke my ankle and tore ligaments in there to the point where I needed a temporary screw put in. I've rolled it a few times hooping and honestly the only reason I remember I broke it is because of the scar. After all the rehab it might actually be stronger than my right one.Final, Ordinary Joel and Nori like this. -

I can't imagine having a tear in my knee. I hope they can sew it back. You're going to recover quick, I know it! Just listen to RecoveryFinal, Ordinary Joel and Nori like this. -

Alright, time to get to my half-marathon training.. still got lots of time but I want to start training early this time, and beat my time from my first one.
Ran a 5k at the gym today, feeling good. Listened to The Hunger For More and watched American Ninja Warrior on tv. That's quite a motivational combo. Very happy with my times, but I'm still shooting for like an 8 minute 5k pace one day.
@Nori I hope your knee's doing better. How'd the MRI go? Hope you can run soon
@The Product That's awesome that you can just run 6 miles out of the gate. You planning on doing any half-marathons or other races? Hal Higdon's training plans are pretty good, I follow them looselyOrdinary Joel, Nori and The Product like this. -

Hi fellow runners! I've been trying to run more consistently lately.. I started the Whole 30, and I'm on day 10. I'm also trying to hit 10,000 steps everyday of this Whole 30 and run at least 15 times in the 30 days.
So far I've run 6 times in 10 days. The runs aren't that great though, 1-3 miles each and a pretty meh pace. I think the Whole 30 is definitely taking its toll on my body. I needed to do it though, I was eating way too crappy and snacking way too much. Also I think I am officially done drinking soda! I haven't had it in 10 days and I feel fine. Been drinking the Dasani sparkling water and it's great. I'm not really trying to lose weight or anything, just kinda reset my body and lose the craving for eating crappy foods I don't need. Working so far!Ordinary Joel, PVRO and Nori like this. -

@Loyalty I actually got curious and looked it up at how far do soccer player's run during a game: http://www.active.com/soccer/articles/how-far-do-you-run-during-a-soccer-game-872900
To keep it on the subject of running it was tricky trying to keep your stamina up for a full 90-min game, you don't fully want to push yourself since it's never a good idea being exhausted near the end of a game. Similar to a race actually, you just had to choose the best time and opportunity.Final, Ordinary Joel and Loyalty like this. -

@Loyalty thanks for holding it down for me while I've been away. I got super sick on Friday and I'm still in the process of recovering. I should be fine for my race on the 4th though. Anyways, what you said about me motivating you was the coolest things any one has ever said to me
I've been doing A LOT of resting so far, my nose is still stuffy and stuff but I should be back to the gym tomorrow. I go into such a slump when I don't run. I didn't see the sun for the first two days I was sick.Final, Ordinary Joel and Loyalty like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

I've never really tried hiking but I do run by the trails around here, so I'll give it a go next and just slow down to enjoy nature. -

lol at 5:47 @Nori. That was creepy at the beginning of the video, that music, in the dark. Nice pace throughout! And good job staying consistent running even with your knee pains.
I only ran once this week - on Tuesday I ran 2 miles (8:40 something pace I believe.. I'll see if I can get a screenshot). But I also went on a 2 mile hike in the morning on Mon, Wed, Thurs. Trying to stay active on days I don't run, when my wife wants to work out also it's better to hike together.
