I didn't go to the gym today since I have physical therapy later on, so I went for a somewhat easy run around the town. My inner thighs are still sore as f--- from Monday's run, I've been on the treadmill so long I forgot how much of a pain going uphill is. Knee was like always, I'm running fine but it bothers me still. I'll probably skip running tomorrow at the gym and make up my time on the elliptical just to give my cartilage some rest. Got a GoPro the other day and was able to capture some footage this morning.

lol at 5:47 @Nori. That was creepy at the beginning of the video, that music, in the dark. Nice pace throughout! And good job staying consistent running even with your knee pains.

I only ran once this week - on Tuesday I ran 2 miles (8:40 something pace I believe.. I'll see if I can get a screenshot). But I also went on a 2 mile hike in the morning on Mon, Wed, Thurs. Trying to stay active on days I don't run, when my wife wants to work out also it's better to hike together.

Thanks! Haha, yeah man it was kinda dark when I first left. I can run through the pain but I know rest is important as well, I'll probably go tomorrow and take either Saturday or Sunday off if not both. I didn't know you were married, congratulations man! I need to find a girl to come running with me :mjcry:

I've never really tried hiking but I do run by the trails around here, so I'll give it a go next and just slow down to enjoy nature.

Anyone tried Spotify's new Running mode? It curates music based on your steps/minute. I ran to the "Epic" playlist, felt like Hans Zimmer was scoring my run and zombies were chasing me. Fastest average mile time in a while.

Thought I would pop in and say hello. I did not know this thread exists but I am a very active runner. Training for my 3rd marathon on July 12th and looking to get below 3:30. My best marathon time is 3:39 right now. I live in Montana so I do a lo of trail running and it is absolutely wonderful. I average about 60-70 miles a week, so If any newbies in here have any questions let me know!

So I decided to take the day off today, didn't even go to the gym. I'm just gonna rest my legs. Anyways, I've been thinking about dropping some weight. I was 150lbs in the fall when I was at my fastest and that wasn't too hard to maintain, I'm at 158 right now, I'll probably drop back down too 150 to see if it makes a difference on my knee. I'll find out whats wrong after the MRI in 3 weeks regardless.

Here's a post of my shoes since I had nothing to post today, I'm currently switching between the blue Lunarglide 6s and black Lunarglide 5s. The orange ones are Lunarknits but I beat them to death this winter running in the salty slush so I don't really use them anymore.

Great, hope the days off help! And thanks :D

Hiking is a good work out, especially hiking up a mountain or something. I see people running the hiking trails, too crazy for me

I haven't tried that - but now I will! That sounds like it'd be pretty awesome. :emoji_thumbsup:
Nice shoe collection! Those orange ones are beat to death. Do you keep track of mileage per pair of shoes at all, or just buy new ones when you feel it's necessary? Good luck with your MRI, and losing the weight. I'm actually around the same weight.. I was recently up to 156, trying to get back to the 145-150 range. Now I'm thinking I really need to build up my stamina and strength if I'm the same weight as you and my mile pace is way worse. :emoji_flushed:

Since I haven't posted anything yet I'll post my Nike+ homepage, since my individual runs don't show much like yours, @Nori

@Loyalty I usually try not to go past 600 miles on a pair, if they're still wearable after I'm done with them I'll use them as gym shoes when I go do weights or something. Those orange ones didn't last long though since we had a pretty heavy winter over here in NY. Probably only 200 miles on them. Good luck with your weight loss too! I actually thought about getting down to 145 also since 150 isn't that bad, but I'm I start looking pretty lanky at 150 and its not a pretty sight lol. I'll see once I get there. I'm Hispanic so we tend to eat big meals so my grandma always starts to freak whenever I start watching portions and stuff :emoji_sob:
I see that 6:48 mile bro :whew: nice.

I'm sure you'll be down to 8 minute pace by the fall :emoji_punch:

    Rest days are over! :rejoice:

I went to the gym yesterday and put in a solid hour and a half workout. My knee felt great! It kinda got sore later on though cause I had to go to work where I pick up heavy stuff. Still making progress.

Went for a 4 miler today before PT. Overall decent run. I started off too hard and got tired about halfway into the run. My thighs weren't as sore since I did 3 outside runs last week, I guess they're getting re-accustomed to the uneven surfaces. Stamina is returning pretty quickly like it usually does, that was the main reason for me slowing down in this run. I did pretty well at physical therapy afterward as well.

I miss doing races so I'm thinking about signing up for a few 5Ks (3 miles) throughout the summer to stay competitive. There's one going on at Governor's Island on 4th of July, I'll probably sign up. If I do, I'll take pics for you guys.

Anyways, here's the stats and a vid. Its on a bike trail that runs all throughout the county, pretty calm and relaxing atmosphere. It's my favorite place to run during the fall.

That bike trail looks nice - especially through the tunnel. I wish we had more like that around where I live. I usually end up running on the sidewalks on the main road unless I want to drive to a park with a trail. Your run times are good as usual, that's awesome how much you're staying on top of running and PT. Definitely take pics of your 5k and share your times, it sounds fun! I have done two 5k's this year, and now I probably won't do one til the fall since there aren't any good ones now since the AZ heat is too much for most people. @Nori

I still haven't run since the 16th unfortunately. I did do a 14 mile overnight hike through a canyon this weekend, which was pretty tough but very fun. I know it's not on-topic to running but here is a picture from my instagram:

The hike was through the water like that like 80% of the time, so even though it was over 100 degrees it helped to keep us cool.

Anyway, hopefully tomorrow I will have a run to talk about.

@Loyalty that's a beautiful picture, looks like Jurassic World a little. You didn't get scared during the overnight part of the hike? Looks awesome nonetheless, we don't have too many places like that in NY but I know there's a few in other states nearby. You're really making me wanna go hike now lol.

So I went for another outside run yesterday and started to get really sore. It went away pretty fast but I didn't like the feeling. I think I'm getting a little too excited a little too fast. I'm limiting myself to 2 outside runs per week until the MRI and I'll just spend the rest of my days in the gym and on the treadmill. I'll probably start working on my core too since I've been neglecting that area forever.

No workout today since I have PT and I was sore yesterday, but I did sign up for that 4th of July 5K!

I guess I worded it wrong - it wasn't really an overnight hike. We hiked 7 miles one day, pitched a tent and hung out, and then hiked 7 miles back in the morning. I think an overnight hike would be kinda scary haha.

Hopefully you can find a good spot to hike! It can be fun but I prefer running. We had to carry 35 lb. backpacks the whole time we hiked :emoji_neutral_face::gun:
That looks like a great run! Good luck on that 5K, looking forward to seeing how you do. You're my motivation to keep running since my marathon training ended.

It was great! But pretty intense, I'd probably only wanna do something like that once a year.

I finally ran again today, but made the mistake of trying to fit it in right before I had to be at work.. around 8am. It was already in the lower 90s outside. I planned to run hard for just 2 miles, but after about a half mile I couldn't do it in the heat. I ended up running/walking the last 1.5 miles. I guess I have to run earlier from now on. Happy with the first mile at least!

I used to run a lot in high school until my foot gave out, plantar fascitiis :/ bit of a nightmare
Best distance was 5k, was okay at 1500m and 3k as well as XC, any longer my legs and feet would hurt too much.

Just got back from taking my dogs out for a short lap. Kind of weary though as only last month some lady nearly got snatched from my route while she was out running.
It pisses me off though, the oval/park is used by a lot of people for exercise and activities but is very poorly lit and even then, the city turns the lights off between 8 - 9.
