Hindsight is 20/20 my guy. There were undoubtedly points during WWII when the Nazis were winning the war. h---, if Hitler didn’t make the huge mistake of trying to invade the Soviet Union during the winter, things could have turned out very differently. 13 British colonies vs the biggest empire the world had ever seen. The best military in the world vs farmers with muskets. You tell me what you think those odds were.

Ukraine also doesn’t need to win militarily to achieve their desired outcome (remaining independent of Russia). A military stalemate which is essentially where we’re at, at this point, would go a long way toward the Kremlin trying to figure out a diplomatic solution rather than an outright military victory.

Genuine question: do you support military aid at all? Like is there any hypothetical situation where you think supporting a country militarily is warranted? Do you think the U.S. providing military aid to Europe during WWII was a bad decision? No one here wants war or conflict. And yeah, it’d be awesome if we could all hold hands & sing kumbaya all the time but that’s not reality. I’m sorry but this isolationist position of doing nothing is just cowardly & precisely how strongmen like Putin & those before him power grab.

Ukrainians are fighting for their own independence. No one is forcing them to fight. They are literally asking (begging at this point) for more aid from the U.S. & NATO. And look, some of the support they’re asking for like a no-fly zones arent going to happen unless excruciating circumstances. There’s limitations here, almost everyone here acknowledges that. But to sit there & be like “who cares…they’re gonna lose anyways” especially when this war wasn’t even suppose to last a week is ridiculous. The U.S. was in Afghanistan for 20 years & couldn’t defeat the Taliban. By no means is all hope lost, even if Russia inevitably “wins” but at a very high cost.

I feel for normal Russians, I really do. I have a colleague at work that lives in Finland and his room mate was beaten by 4 dudes just cause he was speaking Russian on the phone.

I mean I know what the country is doing is really bad, but there are still normal and good people in there lots of them and by the way this is going, you would rather say you're an ISIS member in the future than to say you're Russian.

They just banned Russian and Belarusian Paralympics athletes from competing in the Olympics, dude Paralympics...people with disabilities from competing....that's insane.
