Aug 20, 2015 I wish I could get that feeling again. I remember watching horror movies as a little kid getting so terrified. It was the worst one I couldn't shower for so long because of that movie lol.
Aug 21, 2015 Haven't been scared of a movie since I was a kid. What was the name of that one horror movie where there was like a black spot on the ceiling in the corner of one of the bedrooms and they lived in an apartment? I remember seeing it when I was a kid but can't remember EDIT: I found it, it was Dark Water
Aug 21, 2015 idk if it was because it was my first time seeing an excorsict-esque movie but the "devil inside" is the scariest movie i have ever seen. I have seen most of the classic scary movies after this one because i went through a horror phase but this was probably the scaiest. Its probably because it was one of my first though
Aug 21, 2015 The Exorcist The Shining Nightmare On Elm Street (Original) Dead End Pet Sematary Spider Baby (Not really "scary" but will give you chills, and it's gory for it's time; 1964) That's all I can really think of that really freaked me out
Aug 23, 2015 The only film that f----- my mind was the exorcist, I watched when I was about 10 years, gave me a trauma. But nowadays i can't get scared anymore.
Aug 23, 2015 A convincing depiction of mental illness terrifies me far more than any horror trope can.
Aug 24, 2015 Haven't been scared by a horror movie since The Ring remake at like 12. Not why I enjoy horror movies at all. Tension is nice too, but that isn't necessary either. I've found that the best horror movies always bring out extremely personal internal horrors using dread, atmosphere, and concept to work the viewer into a vibe that allows the violence and these very dark stories/themes to be executed on a level that few dramas or thrillers can match. Sometimes that means more low-rent DTV trash that is all about extreme violence and not much else, and sometimes that brings out experiences that just can't be replicated in any other genre. These are just since 2000 and a good starting point for anyone open to getting more into horror. Wouldn't start with Martyrs tho lol 1.) Martyrs 2.) Pulse 3.) Let the Right One In 4.) k--- List 5.) It Follows 6.) The Descent (UK cut) 7.) The Devil's Rejects 8.) Maniac 9.) Antichrist 10.) A Tale of Two Sisters 11.) Eden Lake 12.) Lake Mungo 13.) Backcountry 14.) The Conjuring 15.) The Ring 16.) Trick 'r Treat 17.) 28 Days Later 18.) Spring 19.) A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night 20.) The Poughkeepsie Tapes If you're expecting top tier GOAT filmmaking with horror, you're usually going to be disappointed. As someone who has a favoritism towards the more sensory side of film though, there's so much in horror to be appreciated.
Aug 24, 2015 I used to love horror movies, but like most people in this thread I haven't really been "scared" seeing one since I was a kid. The last horror movie I can remember that left me feeling uneasy was the first time I watched The Strangers.
Aug 24, 2015 Aye I was gonna post the poster for the movie but i dont wanna be f----- up, but probably amityville horror
Aug 25, 2015 There's a meticulous restoration of Suspiria going on too apparently. Also, have you heard of AMC's new "Shudder" service? $5 a month for a decent catalog of horror flicks (foreign, independent, etc).
