Yes, because it's logical to allow to the public to continue to be mowed down. Us stupid people with our brash empathy for dead children.

There are plenty of solutions short of "nixing the second amendment" even though I fundamentally disagree with the idea that the Constitution isn't a living document that ideally changes to fit the society. Many of those solutions have already been outlined in this very thread. I'm personally against prohibition, seeing as how it didn't work for alcohol or other drugs, but I also realize people won't be cooking up AR-15s in their kitchens. Just look to other countries where the process to obtain a gun license entails classes and fees and evaluations and various other steps that ensure you're not handing out weapons to would be shooters on a whim. I'd be perfectly fine with gun licenses approaching the same standard as drivers licenses in this country if it meant saving even one person.

Yeah by having more mass shootings, we're actually lowering the population which equates to less people that can possibly commit future violent crimes. I think this is the best way to keep chances of future mass shootings down. What a time to be alive
