Never said teenagers could be armed. You should be required to be 21 to purchase any firearm and have to pass a psych evaluatio and background check before you buy one as well, with a few exceptions

Teachers should be armed and trained though

You guys are both asking the wrong question. We shouldn’t need armed guards or armed teachers at schools. The U.S. is alone in this situation. No other developed nation has any where close to as many mass shootings as the United States. The logical thing to do would be to see what they’ve done & enact similar laws here. The NRA has Congress by the balls though.

What the f--- can they do to stop this? You act like the government can snap their fingers saying no more buying guns and these shootings would just disappear. Guns are already so widespread across the USA in homes that I don’t think any sort of ban will stop mass murders. When you bring up other countries they could never buy a bunch of guns to begin with. That’s a lot more easier to control than when guns are already widespread here in the states. Plus this was already a gun free zone so this is just an example that being anti guns doesn’t help. Mental health is the only cure to these mentally ill shooters.

You know a psych evaluation isn’t a psychic mind reading session right? School shooters usually aren’t deranged schizophrenic psychos with obvious mental health issues they’re teenagers with emotional issues not detectable by “psych evaluations”

Australia allowed guns like the U.S up to the late 90s when there was a mass shooting. Since then semi automatic guns were banned and a buy-back scheme was introduced and those who didn’t hand their guns in had them confiscated. There hasn’t been a mass shooting since

Gun laws or not, maybe we should look at why a person would ever feel the need/want to do this. Not exactly related, but suicide rates have been skyrocketing, too. America is in a dark place and there must be some type of root cause for all of this.

Like whenever this happens, it's the same back and forth "we need gun laws / gun laws won't stop this" debate that never goes anywhere...no wonder people keep doing it, it's like they're trying to send a message that nobody listens and they're tired of everything boiling down to politics all the time.

I'm all for trying out gun laws at this point, but I think it'd be beneficial for the country to take a completely different approach to solving this issue because our current path obviously isn't helping.

Literally said nothing about gun bans or anything of that nature. Common sense laws like universal background checks, mandatory registration, improved background screenings etc. would fix this issue in the long run. You’re right about guns being wide spread throughout the states. This isn’t an issue that can be addressed over night. We can put in place laws that will improve the situation for future generations though. Doing nothing is not an option.
