Meanwhile, you're still clinging to constitutional law which you don't understand in the least despite me educating you on the subject multiple times.

I’d be fine with AR-15s being sold if we had universal background checks, firearm registry, & mandatory testing/training. Under current federal law, h--- no.

I think there's been a misunderstanding here, because I apparently missed that part. My bad. If you really do value truth and evidence above all else, then at least I can say I have more respect for you than eg Enigma, who only seems to care about winning. A person’s ideology and political affiliations are meaningless if that individual has no regard for the truth.

I should stress that the main thrust of my argument is not just that I think gun control is unconstitutional, but also that it simply wouldn't work here anyway for an array of reasons which seem to me pretty self-evident; and yet they rarely come up in debates. Everyone just wants to squabble about the Second Amendment, reformists and ‘gun nuts’ alike. I think it's much more nuanced than that. For example, it should be a given that more gun restrictions, especially radical reform, would necessarily mean a significant increase in the illegal arms market. (Admittedly, I allowed you to back me into a corner and forget about these issues for a moment.)

My political views are always subject to change. We may have to agree to disagree on this particular issue, but I am by no means firmly grounded in my beliefs.

i did. The only plausible example i found though was the things he say's against arabs. But most of it is pretty out of context or simply not bigoted statements.

This loser who worked at the dollar store wouldn't have the cash or connections to get a gun that way. Neither would the Nazi nut from last month who also shot up a school. I don't see any scenario in which a more profitable illegal arms trade promotes more shootings. Again, this is all in the case of a complete prohibition, which I would happily stop short of. I'd rather try out more stringent regulation/screening/training.

That's pure speculation. Who said they'd need to have ‘connections’? They could know a guy who knows a guy who knows a random guy who happens to have a firearm for sale. Anyone could be so lucky. But regardless of scarcity and cost, I think the argument still stands that obtaining a gun will always be within the means of anyone who wants one badly enough. Guns will always be available to criminals and the mentally unhinged. It's just a matter of time for them. All you've really managed to do here is disarm law-abiding people of sound mind. Besides, this doesn’t address violent crime overall.

You say that now, but what if you don't get the results you want? You'll probably want even more stringent laws. And even in this hypothetical the same problems still apply. Guns won’t suddenly disappear from the streets, criminals will keep theirs, and general violent crime won't get better. If anything it’ll get worse. Do you really think those paranoid NWO types will hand over their weapons without a fight if for whatever reason they don’t qualify for a license? I’m not so sure.

This exactly. The whole argument of people against gun reform seems to be “they’ll get the guns illegally anyway”. The thing is, for the demographic of school shooters, which are the lonersome types (not even a stereotype) it is 100x more difficult to get a gun illegally than simply walking in a store and buying one or simply grabbing one from your dad’s closet

There is not a single shred of doubt that restricting the sales of semi automatic weapons will eventually see the reduction of mass shootings.


It’s just simple common sense and even those who deny it know it’s true. Almost all guns in school shootings were either easily bought at gun stores or online, or they were taken from the family home.

When’s the last time you heard of a school shooter buying a gun from a gun runner? Not even mentioning the ridiculous price hike that guns on the black market would incur if the legal ones got banned or restricted


Long story short, these things happen because of how easily available and attainable guns are. There is NO other solution other than to make these guns impossible or very difficult to purchase

No doubt criminals will still keep theirs. They’ll still keep theirs regardless of whether guns are legal or not. On the other hand though, high school kids will have a much harder time getting them. And since we’re talking about school shootings, it’s the high school kids who will s---t up the school, not the drug traffickers and crime lords

I came across many people saying they wouldnt visit the country because it is dangerous... do u understand how shameful is that? People wonder how can the richest country in the world be so backwards? And to read all those people defending guns still is like you r spitting on those kids graves, makes my blood boil...
