I completely get what youre saying about that, and agree to a sense.

Thats what training the teachers is for. I would personally rather have armed guards, former military or such, come in. But if not, then put the teachers through a Glock and target discrimination course. Get them trained. It would be a stupid idea to say just bring your guns. I know too many idiots who think theyre tough s--- with guns but I could take them out easy if needed. We dont need that at schools

Training can only do so much. People in the armed forces, swat, police force etc. know that training can *only* take you so far. Especially when we’re talking about what? Probably a week long training session tops? Also, where’s the funding for this going to come from? Most importantly, why is the teacher’s obligation to be the first line of defense? That’s not in their job description.

This would require a lot of money & a lot of able bodied veterans who are capable mentally & physically to do the job. The average vet is in his/her late 50’s. Questions of what role these individuals would have in the school would need to be answered as well. Would they be considered school staff or part of law enforcement? Would they have the authority to punish the children like school staff or no? The idea of throwing a bunch of hardened vets into schools with kids that like to push buttons doesn’t sit well with me. Not to mention from a pure numbers stand point, I don’t think it’s feasible.

Its something that would have to be looked into. I personally would think that they should be law enforcement, and that they wouldnt be punishment autorities, although if a fight broke out they would be able to break it up. And if a kid does some s--- to get drilled then he deserves it. Not physical abuse or anything. Kids need to know respect, and not to f--- with a vet.

The one thing I do wish this gun control movement does is perhaps move away from advocating for an assault rifle ban & more towards universal background checks, firearm registry, mandatory testing, liability insurance etc. There are better gun control ideas/legislation out there than another assault rifle ban imo.
