As a scuba diver myself, I wondered if any of you share the same hobby?

In here we can discuss anything scuba diving related. Think of things like what certification you've got or would like to get, what places have you been and would you recommend. And of course where would you still like to go scuba diving?

Personally I'm a PADI Advanced Open Water diver. I would recommend this course (or a similar one) to anyone who's interested in scuba diving.
I've been scuba diving at Ras Mohammed and Sharm-el-Sheikh (Red Sea) in Egypt for the last couple of years, where I've seen a lot of different fish, turtles and even sharks. It's like a big aquarium out there.
I would love to go to other places like the Great Barrier Reef, Maldives and the Great Blue Hole (Belize), but I'd need to safe some money first before I can go on diving trips like that.

I went scuba diving in Grand Cayman on my honeymoon, and got to swim with and pet the stingrays. It was really cool but they were pretty slimy. I would like to go again somewhere, not sure where yet though.. maybe some of the places you mentioned!

Ah the Cayman Islands, is it worth the trip? It would be a long flight for me, but I've heard there are definitely beautiful things to see there.
Too bad a lot of nice places are far, far away haha. It makes the hobby that much expensive.

If you ever get the chance, you should give it a try! Plus you can always check if there's a diving center near you to help you out. :khaled2:

Def on my bucket list, that's for sure! I always enjoyed snorkeling in the thousand islands as a kid. I can't imagine I wouldn't love diving.

Just went snorkeling and scuba diving a couple days ago in Acapulco.

It was my first time scuba diving and it was pretty fun, except not being able to "pop" my ears as I got deeper

My friend has the same problem... He basically pops his ears as a precaution all the time (while diving ofcourse) which works for him, but he can't get any deeper than about 20m or his ears will eventually start to hurt. But if you're new to scuba diving it might get better with time. :emoji_thumbsup:
