Dec 28, 2014 Tried listening to it numerous times and couldn't get into the corniness. The best song is a bonus track and only because of the Big Sean feature. So
Dec 28, 2014 d---, i never heard somebody calling this record corny lol ¿Which song you think is corny?
Dec 28, 2014 Not necessarily the album, but Logic himself man. I really tried getting into him (girl I was talking to at the time this album dropped was a Logic fan so naturally I had to give it a couple spins) but I just couldn't enjoy his music that much. Something about his voice to always annoys me. I'd rather listen to G-Eazy honestly
Dec 28, 2014 Subsection wouldn't be intended for artist discussion, but rather solely for the release of music. Similar to the download section of Studio Leaks. Private section so people would have to register to access it, rather than guest view the s---. Section Eighty exclusives "subsection" ---> has locked threads/single posts of new music from artists ---- > requires registration to view I suggested S80 work with up-and-coming artists that have the potential to navigate their up-and-coming fan base our direction. If the best idea you could come up with for expanding the diversity of the average poster was importing a bunch of ignorant J. Cole fans, chances are the site won't be very successful. It's alienating to new users (or anyone with a varying opinion, for that matter) if the majority of posters are part of a heavily opinionated fan base. Studio Leaks was horrible because it was a bunch of G-Unit clothing wearing f---ers praising everything Eminem does. It alienated the potential fan base. My b for suggesting something to expand the vision tho.
Dec 28, 2014 Check out Givenchy, the intro to Rich g--- Pt 2. They give it all to Thug..and I swear the first half is a love song lol. The whole point of their music is enjoyment, according to you, so how is that hard to believe? Oh word? Let me change my avy to another artist so that you respect me more. Maybe one you actually know something about so I don't put you in the unfortunate position of talking out of your a---. FOH Oh so you want to comment on something you have no nothing about? When I was commenting on FHD without finishing the album, I was commenting on the fact that people were putting in their top 5 claiming there was nothing else worth listening to this year. So I wasn't directly commenting ton the quality of the album (which I eventually did listen to fully then posted my thoughts). But sure, never listen to a project of his keep commenting on him as some authority, I'm sure it'll make you look real intelligent. He's 22. He hasn't put a SINGLE album. At all. Yet his discog is literally upwards of a hundred songs/features/etc. I'm sure you picked a very representative 5 songs to listen to though! Right, and people actually post reasons as to why in each case. What you're doing with Young Thug isn't the same. It's ignorant/arrogantly dismissive. Oh and as for RTJ, every reputable source (to my knowledge) rates it more than FHD. Tell me one thing wrong with this song: Or what's wrong with Boosie in general. Pre conceived notions are a motherfuck huh? Yeah, it's short and fantastic. Sure and it also means that if you HAVEN'T, you don't have the right to comment on how the year sucks as a whole. There just weren't as many mainstream albums shoved in your face. The "staples" of hip hop aren't the only ones who know how to make music. If anything, they make some of the lesser albums of the year when they drop (MCHG, MMLP2). I'm not going to entertain thickheadedness or arrogant stupidity on this site - I HATE that s---. When people are adamant on commenting on something they know nothing about. I already covered why/what I was commenting on regarding FHD when I hadn't heard it fully. That's not the same. What I WILL do is convert you f---ers lol. Even if it kills me. I DON'T want this site to go from Eminem stans to J Cole stans - I want it to be open minded, intelligent, logical, well informed posters.
Dec 28, 2014 My exact words were "creating a section for only a select few netcees to post their music".
Dec 28, 2014 We already have huge eminem fanbase...if @Hasman decided to email our 10k members they will be filling the sections We are getting nice kendrick fans daily We got lotts of jcole fans I dunno abiut you but i like where we are going...we been open for like a month
Dec 28, 2014 Anyways JCN has been a Kendrick and Cole forum for 3 years. It was originally J. Cole Nation and KDot Nation (run by @Luke and @Term-X) before KDN was shut down and absorbed by JCN. So I brought over 60 Kendrick and Cole fans to dilute the Eminem fans here. Koolo is currently SEOing for Kendrick and Drake to fill out those sections. Myself and the people that came over from JCN with me (a site that got up to 1.2 million impressions per article published) are working on a culture blog to expand the site. But yeah chances are the site won't be very successful.
Dec 28, 2014 sorry i was on my phone before so i had to ignore this post bruh couldn't respond to it on there For sure, I'm not saying you don't have a great understanding on the albums you have ranked - I'm saying that it's at least top 7 for everyone, when you haven't heard potential contenders, if getting ahead of yourself. Probably just being defensive tho since I probably come off as attacking the album (which i haven't done…my only comments on the album have been positive lol. Everyone seems to have missed that tho). I understand what you're saying - and I although as I mentioned before, repeated listens of Cole projects have only brought them down for me (his content at times is corny in my opinion - just the way he goes about addressing those issues) but a lot FHD is strong enough that Im sure it'll hold up. But what a few listens, no matter how relatively shallow it is compared to your listens, IS enough to stack it up to a top 5 list I have for the year. Like those top 5, are top 5 because they're so strong (unlike for everyone else who seem to be making top fives with the idea that this year only had like 6 good albums). If Cole's isn't going to crack my top 15 (or 20 like I said before) after the first few listens, you think it will after a month? I'll most likely forget about it by then. There's stigma like that with a lot of artists. And that sucks for sure. It's there with Hopsin, and I'm a fan of his first two projects. It's there with Macklemore now, and I liked The Heist at first. etc You're not a part of this fan base I'm referring to, your more logical than that, but people who love an artist to the point where they can't notice what would be glaring flaws to the average fan. Like when Hopsin tells you not to smoke weed or it'll ruin your life. With Cole, it's always the way he approaches his black rights "activism" in his songs - it's always too, idk on the nose, sometimes even corny. Or when raps about people (or specifically, that one chick in high school) not believing in him. Lol. He did something different, for the most part, on this album. And even the parts it could've been too direct - it was a new angle (like "if they aint want us, why didnt they wear a rubber" is >>>>>>>>>) Well we're not really only facing his core fan base here are we? Not everyone here is the kind of fan your describing - they're the kind I am lol. The kind to say that "ill never listen to a single young thug project but he's a--- for the most part," and then turn around and tell me I don't think FHD is top 5 cause J cole isn't my type of artist.
Dec 28, 2014 also i dont listen to either, but out of principle Logic >>>>>> the f-- G eazy he was the only artist that was a--- at the concert I went to in NYC for Rosenberg's birthday. He only had one song it was awful (id heard a few other online before that and already wasn't a fan). He even had the nerve to say "ohh they aint f---ing with the white boy" LMAO naww son u trash thats why everyones standing still when they're were JUST turning up. they tried to sneak ur weak a--- in to the line up Vic Mensa only had one song too (feel that) and it was AMAZING. lol f---ing awesome live. made me an instant fan. sidenote, concert was headlined by Bronson, Dany Brown, Ab Soul, and Schoolboy. So good. Bronson and Danny Brown were two of the best acts I'd ever seen, and Id seen em both before… this s--- was next level tho.
Dec 28, 2014 Shadyxv: 6/10 (i haven't heard since the few times tho. maaaaaybe it'd be higher) FHD: at least an 8, solid, solid album. I'm also known to be lenient at times based off initial impressions. But i can't see it being below a 7.5
