Don't you ever get tired of no one agreeing with you? millionaire-ill prepared, knife in the gut-like getting cut, booth I spit-school I quit, there are a lot of schemes I for one enjoy in there and the verses are structured nicely. you can complain all you want about the 'arena' beat or what you think are 'cringeworthy' metaphors and punches. survival for better or worse was the first glimpse of the mathers lp 2 (!) which is a big deal to some people

I've heard people call survival filler. I obviously don't think it is but every album out there has songs some enjoy less or more than others

no, it really isn't. with the stupid rehashed content in that song it was only slightly better than rhyming gibberish words. if he had managed to say something impactful, it would have been an interesting gimmick to the song, maybe

the track wasn't made for ghosts, they just put the first two verses in their ad and marshall decided to let that turn into the quasi first single before we heard berzerk. kinda like crack a bottle is relapse's first single even though everyone thinks of we made you.

doesn't filler mean he needed it there? because there was nothing better he could have used in its stead? rick rubin produced over 100 tracks for him for this album, survival is there for a very specific reason. it's in a very particular spot on the album too, the tracklist tells an explicit story. additionally don't front was supposed to be on the bonus disc but didn't make it in time because of copyright issues

Yeah it was. He said he recorded and sent Activision four different versions between July and August.

The song was there because of a business deal with Activision. The tracklist tells no story.
