personally i thought this album was f---in amazing. the production value is awesome. not too much corny cringeworthy lines by eminem. although i much prefer eminems older style to his new one. its still f---ing awesome for what it is. and i gotta say, yela SHINES on this album. every spot hes in he kills. wish he had more tracks on it tbh. anyways my rankings

shady xv: 8/10. love that shot at fack. and the rihanna line actually made me lol. nice production by em. not a classic track by any means, but its not bad.

psychopath killer: 9.5/10. f---in love this song. had it on repeat a few times today. the beat, dope. yelas hook, killed it. just f---in awesome. everyones verse is dope, and each one seems to get better throughout the song. easily a top 3 song on this album.

die alone: 7.5/10. i dont understand the all this hate this song is copping over at trshady. personally i like it. the beat isnt anything stand out, but i do like the hook. its unlike anything ems ever used before. great subject matter in the verses. as always em does well on his emotional songs. overall good song.

vegas: 9.5/10. omg em has bars for f---in days on this song. jesus he goes the f--- in on this s---. love it. is it just me or does it sound like em is using some of techs flows in this? experimental production by em which i think has paid off. the bizzare bit made me lol, and his nikki flow is spot on. that r--- whistle line at iggy again made me lol. classic em s--- right there. nothing to complain about with royce. as always he keeps up with em. another top 3 song on the album imo.

y'all ready know: 8/10. not a huge amount to say about this song. its solid. classic premier beat. everyones verses were dope. just a good solid song.

guts over fear: 8.5/10. loved this song ever since i first heard it. awesome subject matter. love sia on the hook. these 2 need to make more songs together. great choice for the lead single.

down: 9/10. omg again yela. this guy is gawd on this album. this guy NEEDS to be pushed and promoted the f--- out of now while the hype is there. awesome song. has the intensity that get the f--- up has. and that "cause marshalls a rap god, d--- right. well then I guess that makes me jesus" line is honestly my favorite line on the whole album. dope.

bane: 5/10. not feeling this song too much. its not a bad song but there is nothing stand out about it. it could of done with a verse by em or even an unreleased proof verse just to give it that little something extra. the only verse i thought was exceptional was kuniva. thought he went in hard. but yeah, my least favorite song on the album.

fine line: 9/10. yeah love this song. everything about it is dope. love the production, and the hook is amazing. nothing bad to say about it at all.

twisted: 9.5/10. this f---in song. DOPE! when i first saw that skylar grey was on it i was like awww f--- no. cant stand the b----. but this song came off sounding so f---in dope. can see this being a single tbh. love the beat. ems singing is pretty dope. and again f---ing yela. contender for stand out verse for the album? he goes the f--- in. the other top 3 contender for this album. if i had to pick a favorite song for the album, it might be this. love it.

right for me: 6/10. dont really like this song that much. cant really understand what is being said in the hook, doesnt sound like its been mastered that well. verses are good though. my least favorite em track on the album.

detroit vs. everybody: 7.5/10. when i first heard this song i struggled to get into it, but it grew on me heaps. production is good. hook sounds quite nice in my beats by dre. easily the best verse big sean has made in his career. not to sure about ems flow on this one though. far from a classic, but a nice way to close out the album.

    bonus songs:

till its gone: 9/10. do i need to say it again? f---ing yela! i love this song so f---in much. had it on repeat for ages when it first came out. do i think it was a good first choice by him to use it as a first single for his album? no, it has no commercial value for radio at all. but for me this song is a classic. dope as s---.

lose yourself demo: 8/10. so glad to hear some of the old em style that i fell in love with when i was a kid. not as good as the the version that was released, but its still really really good. i hope he releases some more of those older songs as bonus tracks in the future.

First it was the accent, then it was the shouting, then it was the sound of the voice and now it's the choppy flow. Some people need to realise he's not going to do the exact albums again :) I find the flow refreshing, he's doing some really complex stuff while being playful with the beat. That last part - being able to play with the beat like no other - is what I think he got back to here, and I like that part.

I would put MMLP2 above this because of more quality songs all together and some more meaningful content. But technically he's doing much better on ShadyXV imo.

Very boring at first glance but I agree with Koolo that it's a grower.
ShadyXV has a nice Slim Shady throwback, Vegas seems pointless but Em is enjoyable on it and obviously having fun, Twisted also seemed corny as h--- and I skipped it but is really catchy. Nothing else seems really memorable apart from the obvious Lose Yourself demo which just makes you sad when you listen to it and how captivating it is and then, the album starts from the beginning.
    Overall, no expectations, no surprises.

What I expected and what I got were pretty much the same thing with this album after the cypher and DvE.

I wanted to like the album, and it was at least listenable for me the first time through, but there's just no replay value with Em anymore, and I feel like he ruined the songs that had any.

ehh. intro was trash, some brilliant moments towards the end of the song but not enough to really save the song.

yelawolf honestly impressed me the most. the slaughterhouse track was pre cool, I f---s with premo production.

don't like eminem's flow at all. just gotta accept we'll literally never hear anything "normal" again.

his verse on psychopath killer was like 24 bars too long like ugh. product of WAY too many yes men in his crew IMO

Yeah Ive gotta be honest and say Em's flow and content is getting worse for me.. saying things just because it rhymes in a complex way... he's not actually saying anything..
For me Em's at his best as a story teller.. maybe he's just ran out of s--- to say.

Great work on the new site Koolo and Hasman

I have to admit I was disappointed by Shady XV. I really liked Guts Over Fear, the 2 Slaughterhouse songs are pretty cool but everything else was really forgettable to me. Production was pretty weak, Em's flow has never sounded worse and despite some really good lyrics, there's far too much filler and corny lines (that Rihanna/pinnochio line, jesus) for my liking. By far the least replay value of any release on Shady Records ever.

Wish Eminem had a verse instead of Yelawolf on Twisted. Yelawolf's verse isn't good imo.
