Nov 30, 2015 you can keep avoiding the answer but it's sitting right in front of you access to assault rifles is the difference and the problem
Nov 30, 2015 @shahidah a little perspective for you. I just did a quick little google and found that in Australia not only did murder rates plummet after banning guns, but rate of suicides plummeted too. I've also read though, that long-term our crime rate has gone up since the ban (although, it's not clear whether there's a link between the gun control laws and crime increasing. And since the ban apparently 20% of crimes are still gun related, which is not much of a change. That being said though, there hasn't been a mass shooting since.
Nov 30, 2015 I thought the guns were legally obtained as his family were on a farm and had guns to control the area?
Nov 30, 2015 See.... This seems logical but since the NRA pretty much owns most republicans in congress, every time a bill is drafted to enact common sense gun laws like this, the bill falls dead in the water. Oh and here goes that gun control argument you were looking for @Isabella. Took a couple of days to start up lol
Nov 30, 2015 Actually I'm wrong I think The guns were legally purchased I think but weren't his family's he bought them from a newspaper advertisement. I'm not sure if it was a legit gun shop selling them or some individual though
Nov 30, 2015 You can legally buy firearms directly from the owner in Colorado. Since 2013, there is however a mandatory background check administered by a licensed dealer.
