    this thread is kinda fascinating to me. i feel like i can experience the american point of view about politics by reading some of these posts, and that explains a lot. this is great!

    you made your avy a white supremacist who shot up a black church and then made your avy the guy who assassinated the president who issued the emancipation proclamation. after making an account called "african kid" whose main purpose was making bad racist posts imitating an african person who can't speak english very well if I remember correctly. Phrases like "gangster" and "g----b-----r" and "ghetto" and "thug" are just ways for racist white people to say "black people" without actually saying "black people." This all just adds up to bad race-baiting to me.

    A lot of people are products of their environment and a system that helps keep people poor. Yeah, some dirt-poor people are able to "pull themselves up by their own bootstraps" but that's the exception, not the rule. I don't know where people get this notion that all these homeless people and poor people WANT to be homeless and poor. Of course there's always going to be people who are happy feeding off the system (ANY system), but again, they're the exception not the rule.

    except if you're actually doing any labor worthwhile enough to be "hard-earned" chances are you aren't the one reaping the benefits, the real money maker is earning 10x your check to tell u to do the work for him

    I wouldn't consider a billionaire becoming a millionaire appalling. I consider the wealth distribution and state of our country right now appalling. I don't think you can really take the moral high ground when you're defending billionaires' right to have a billion dollars over the poor's right to have/afford basic needs like healthcare.

    Well yeah of course Id donate money too, Id donate at least 10 mil to Make A Wish and Id start a foundation to rebuild Baltimore and clean the streets up. But people in here are acting like Bill Gates should have most of his money taken and redistributed to the poor, which is wrong

    I couldnt imagine working my whole life to have some dumbass come along and say "you have too much money, so Im taking most of it". Appaling to think about.

    If A and B have cars, and the Earth is doomed in a way that will only effect the poorest C and D, build mass transit and go green.

    This isn't envy you nerd. Nobody in this thread is arguing "actually all the money in the world should be mine personally". That's what the greedy robber barons we're going to drive extinct do.

    Even the ones that have “done good with it” are still hurting working-class people in the long run. Creating a foundation, donating money, building a school etc. is all cool & stuff but taxing them more & increasing tax revenue would benefit the general public more than Elon Musk trying to go to mars.
