Feb 7, 2015 Here is my argument. I admit that Eminem has released some pretty good music in the past. But saying he is the best of all time? No possible way. I don't think anyone can touch the careers of 2Pac, Nas, and Biggie Smalls. I wouldn't even say Eminem is one of the top 10 rappers of all time. One rapper that has been argued about is Kanye West. Kanye is an amazing artist, maybe one of the best we'll ever see in hip hop. Is he in my top ten rappers of all time? No. Kanye has better beat selection than Eminem. I would also say that Kanye has influenced more rappers than Eminem and will only continue to after his release of Yeezus. Eminem has great skill, but tarnished his career after his return to rap. His poppy beats, weak lines, and annoying voice have made him more of a pop star than a rapper. People say that race doesn't play a factor in Eminem's career, but the sad truth is that it does. He is more accessible to listen to the white community. My second point is that Kanye not only has built his own career, but many others too. Pusha T, Big Sean, Travi$ Scott, and Kid Cudi all have Kanye to thank for becoming so popular. Who has Eminem got? Yelawolf? Also, I believe Kanye has a larger amount of classic albums than Eminem. Kanye has has College Dropout, Late Registration, Gradution, and MBDTF. (4) Eminem has SSLP, MMLP, and The Eminem Show. (3) Kanye has won 21 Grammys and Eminem has won 13. Pretty bad for a pop artist if you ask me. Even Jay-Z, one of the most influencial names in hip-hop, has called Eminem overrated. Kanye is an amazing producer, while Eminem is not. Kanye runs a fashion line, heads a label, is a father and husband, produces beats, and still makes quality albums every other year. I know you may be wondering who my top ten is since neither Kanye and Eminem didn't make it (although Kanye is either 11 or 12 on my list and Eminem may be closer to 30 or so). 10. Ice Cube 9. Feb 8, 2015 Eminem has been trash since 2003 and his best material since then has been average at best (except very few exceptions like Deja Vu). Current Eminem will never release a project even half as good The Warm Up, Friday Night Lights, or 2014 Forest Hills Drive. h--- Eminem at this stage of his career wouldn't even be able to make an album as good as Born Sinner or Sideline Story.
