    Update: had an air fryer for over a year now & has introduced a whole new dynamic to my cooking that I’ll never look back on. Now the oven gets used once every 2 weeks I’d say on average. Air fryer however, almost daily.

    @Michael Myers
    I also run super hot so I made sure to do some research, the one I got is pretty breathable and has cooling fabric. I don't think it'll be as viable in the summer like @Worm said—and I also don't like sleeping with the AC on cuz it f---s with my sinuses. There were many nights my first summer in ATL where I just slept on top of my blankets.

    Never heard of that channel so I'll peep! And yeah, I should have specified that dark roasters are good for espresso—but whenever people make them for like french press or drip coffee it never tastes right to me.

    My mom used to have an espresso machine so I've made it before but haven't had much practice with it—and back then I just made iced lattes and americanos anyway. I'd love to get a good espresso machine at some point.

    I was hooking up with a chick last year that was insistent on sleeping with a weighted blanket, I could not do it. I get hot way too d--- easily, felt like I was in a d--- sauna lol.

    @Donkey Kong Country saw a commercial about that weight blanket a few times now, hesitating to buy it. This thread convinced me to do it!

    Yeah, light roasts are great but they're much harder to work with, especially with espresso. All the variables matter much more when you're making espresso with a light roast. Dark roasts are pretty forgiving. and yeah, it seems very pretentious, but as you said, these variables all matter a lot. Right now I'm using an espresso machine which doesn't allow me to control for temperature, which I've come to realize is an extremely important factor. Brew temperature has a big impact on taste, so even if I'm doing everything right in my prep, I can end up with a s-----y espresso if my temperature is wrong. I'm looking to modify my machine with a PID so that I can control the temperature...but it's like an extra $200-300 (and my machine was already like $550). Plus the grinder is another $550. And the grinder is more important than the espresso machine.

    Point is, it's an expensive hobby lol. plus quality beans cost money too. Have you experimented with espresso too? You should check out James Hoffmann's youtube channel. He's a good coffee expert.

    Anyone here use a french press? My old roommate had one. While the coffee was good, I didn't see the hype behind it.

    That's an extremely great gift package for any coffee lover. I've only made pour over a few times at a friends' house so that's something I wanna invest in at some point.

    Mostly biographies, Rakim's recent book, Bryan Cranston one from 2017, a few Star Wars books, some Napoleon Hill books, that "Rich Dad Poor Dad" piece I was trying to read since forever but never got time, Elon Musk biography, book about Netflix, every Mike Tyson book, Barack Obama's "A Promised Land" and Michelle's "Becoming", even Trump's "The Art Of Comeback", Eminem's "The Way I Am" for nostalgia etc. etc.

    Reading really takes me away from everyday bs that's been happening since rona arrived.

    Oh yes this s--- too. But my roommate already had one when I moved in so we just split the CO2 cost.

    Seltzer water is also one thing that helped start drinking less over the years cuz I realized a lot of what I miss is the carbonation.

    What have you been reading?

    Since pandemics started I've bought and read around 60 books, besides that I was trying to save my money. I also got myself a stationary bicycle, keeps me in motion when I'm home, cause besides work and shopping I'm not going out, f--- that.
