    OP forgot how real hip hop sounds like. Probably the guy listens to so much current popular rappers and likes them a lot. Now he goes back to some classics and it feels like they are trash. Yeah of course. If some of those new gen rappers release classics then The Slim Shady LP is trash.

    You can't say ''critical and public reception doesn't mean s---'' to try and deny something being a classic. Critical and public perception means everything. Nobody cares much about one random persons opinion, its when random people pull together in large groups to form decisions, when something is recognized or when the opinions of highly recognized ''professionals'' make a decision or statement etc.
