Jun 16, 2015 Not really my first time hearing it, but it was my first time actually looking into the lyrics and stuff instead of just playing it in my car. Wow, I underestimated it! Songs I really liked (not in order): f--- Up Some Commas Throw Away (This one was a surprise that I usually would skip over in the car. The lyrics and concept on here along with the beat change up is crazy) My Savages Hardly Mad Luv Codeine Crazy Songs I liked but aren't my favorite: Radical Monster After That The rest were kind of "meh", but the fact that 9/16 tracks (9/14 if you don't count the intro and Abu Boomin) are great is pretty impressive! When @Narsh said there's too much filler on this project he's right, but if the filler wasn't there this would easily be one of my top 3 mixtapes. Thoughts?
Jun 16, 2015 my thoughts are you should take this same approach with Beast Mode and have your mind blown (my 2nd favorite project of the year). but yeah man monster is a lot of peoples favorite simply because of how great its highlights are
Jun 16, 2015 At first I thought you were talking about the Monster by Eminem. Was wondering wtf were all those other songs you were talking about. Rofl
Jun 16, 2015 That's what I hear, I still have to go in on the other 2. I'm in the same boat with them where I played them in my car but didn't really look into lyrics or content. March Madness though
Jun 16, 2015 I feel like by the end of my listening spree I might actually drop the $60 on that Future 3-Peat Tour Pack...
Jun 16, 2015 2nd only to beast mode! But seriously, what places 56 night above beast mode for you? I personally feel like he's a noticeably a worse rapper on monster (in parts he's brilliant without a doubt (my savages, codeine crazy etc)) than beast mode or 56 nights. I don't think there's any distinction to be made like that between BM and 56 nights So what it comes down to is production, content and obviously individual song quality. the two-post monster projects drastically cut down on the size of their tracklists and that definitely helps them both out. I love the atmosphere of BM. Zaytovens production has me on cloud 9 most of the time. To me, Lay Up and Peacoat are as good as anything on 56 nights except March Madness
