    because every time i or anyone else is like "eehhhh not sure eminem's the greatest rapper to ever live" you blow a gasket and start typing like you're in a birmingham jail

    Not overrated. No other artist started their career with three undeniable classics (plus another classic from his group with Devil's Night) then followed that up with a classic movie and soundtrack. There's no way you can say 1999-03 Eminem is overrated. Post-hiatus Em is still the best overall rapper in the game even though his content has fallen off drastically.

    not overrated at all, and even if you think he is---you're very much in the minority

    i thought eminem was amazing at this peak--better than most rappers in their prime

    he's obviously not the same anymore, but all rappers fall off eventually

    What are you talking about? I don't care if you don't think he's the greatest to live to be clear. Looks like you're blowing gaskets, not vice versa.

    there have been moments on this message board where i listed a top-five or -ten rappers of all time, that didn't include eminem, and you went absolutely ballistic lol. i hadn't even mentioned the guy's name.

    Direct me to said thread, if that's the case genuinely I apologize. I've never intended to fault you for your opinion, it's just annoying how no one is ever right but you. Like I hope you can open your eyes and see most people do, without hesitation, put em in their top 10.

    not overrated, not underrated... overhated to a degree at this point.

    but seeing people who don't like Em argue with people who adore Em is such a headache

    look, I love Eminem's music still but there is nothing about this that makes sense.

    that's basically saying there is literally no good rappers now..

    I apologize for assisting in making this thread worse, my bad fellow posters.

    I agree overhated. I understand adoring prime em, he was outstanding. Post hiatus Eminem is held to that standard which is probably what leads to the over hating.

    he's saying Em at his lowest is better than people like say, Kendrick (which is a bad example with Archy since he hates the man with a passion) which I disagree with

    Meaning that technically, just as far as rhyming goes, as far as being an emcee, he's still the best. But he's really lost his ability to translate that talent into making good songs consistently.
