Jan 19, 2015 guts over fear is pretty fantastic and the cxvpher is easily his best freestyle narsh gonna narsh noddy is that shady records section bringing in a lot of new members?
Jan 19, 2015 that's weird seeing as how sajn had no trouble running a successful site with my presence and virtually none of the trolls you deem indispensable for three years
Jan 19, 2015 It was Sajn's idea in the first place to make a new forum. Besides, if TR was that successful it would still be running. Sajn took TR over when it was already a sinking ship.
Jan 19, 2015 The Shelter looks to struggling tbh. Looks very inactive. I think TR Shady will return before the end of the year.
Jan 19, 2015 Just before SL went down, I recall most saying positive comments about Guts Over Fear. I personally enjoy that, Psychopathic Killer, Shady XV & Fine Line for the most part. Vegas would've been a highlight on h--- The Sequel. Starting to type of my Shady XV review (only songs with em) Edit: what's this about a shelter? actually no, I don't even wanna know lol
Jan 19, 2015 don't really get the arrow in the title..assuming it's backwards?? mmlp2 >>>> xv tho listened to xv maybe twice. all of ems verses were somehow took an already butchered flow and made it worse
Jan 19, 2015 831's Shady XV Review (Only songs w/Em) 1. Shady XV - The intro sets the tone for Em's style for the majority of this compilation. Bars, bars, bars, bars and more bars. There are plenty of quotables in between all the random topics he says & besides reminding me of Fack's existence, it's not a bad song, it's nothing extremely amazing after the 10th listen though. Without a consistent subject matter it'll require a few replays to catch everything if you don't want to resort to RapGenius. Nice Billy Quier sample btw. 6.5/10. 2. Die Alone - This song fits the "find different ways to word the same old song" concept perfectly. I'll call this a new 25 To Life, except 25 To Life>>>> this. This mixing of Kobe's vocals & the beat switch ups throw me the f--- off. Arguably the worst DJ Khalil beat Em's been on. But now on to the lyrics. Em's complaining a woman or hip hop in the form of one & it's not any better than the 5-8 songs he already has on this subject. His new style adds more passion & Em's showing more lyricism than those songs, but as an actual song it's a mess & the subject's been played out. 4/10 3. Guts Over Fear - The When I'm Gone of Shady XV. I can still appreciate this song, especially since he pretty much admitted what long time Em fans have been saying for the last couple of years, running out of s--- to say & resorting to recycling subjects on new material. "I'd rather make Not Afraid 2 than another motherfucking We Made You" I hope somebody goes and tells him we don't want another of either. Not Afraid's not a bad song but still. His flow's still face paced, but it's more controlled & doesn't come out as forced. That Migos flow on the 2nd verse though was sick. "So this is for every kid who all's they ever did was dreamt that one day just getting accepted I represent him or her, anyone similar, you are the reason that I made this song" Guts Over Fear proves his new style can work if done right. 9/10. Adding more later. @Koolo
Jan 19, 2015 It's always gotten a lot of praise.... Still have no clue why, it's an alright song but people are overrating the h--- out of it
Jan 19, 2015 i love mmlp2 and shady xv is really nice to listen to every couple of weeks but it dosnt have the replay value of mmlp2 it isnt a full album so its not really fair to compare the two but still i love the stop and go flow just for this ep cuz its somthing different but it dosnt rank close to mmlp2 imo
Jan 19, 2015 i must've missed this completely. we're still talking about "stab myself in the gut while wiping my butt" right?
Jan 19, 2015 lol f--- you're right. That's Survival. I haven't either of them in so long I got confused. Guts over Fear is definitely better than that
Jan 19, 2015 You're confusing Guts Over Fear with Survival. Guts Over Fear is the song he did with Sia and was in the trailer of that one movie.
