Aug 6, 2015 cRap. Don't disrespect country rap like that, the real country rappers like Colt Ford are tight.
Aug 6, 2015 people sleep on country man. i understand some people might not like it but there are some crazy talented artists. eric church, darius rucker, brad paisley, etc.
Aug 6, 2015 More of a fan of older country music but some stuff is good I went to last years cma fest in Nashville and I had a good time
Aug 6, 2015 yeah i don't really listen to it that much because radio country nowadays is the same song every time lol. love me some johnny cash.
Aug 6, 2015 Okay you see that's the problem. You're writing him off as something he's not. Yelawolf is far from a one-off Eminem and if you expect him to be that, then you're listening to the wrong artist. He shouldn't even be classified as hip hop, he's more of an alternative artist. I've spent years living in Nashville, Memphis and Mobile hanging around underground country artists playing music with them, and I love hip hop as much as any of you, so I know when I hear stronger elements of country infused with hip hop. He's experimenting more with the two genres than hip hop artists have in the past (which have basically been "two singing verses with a deep southern accent then rap verse") because he's one of the few that's a true fan of both genres. With his earlier work, he was touring with a full country band set. Love Story has more steel guitars, fiddles and upright bass than any mainstream country album out right now. The legend Robbie Turner was on this album ffs. There's definitely room for improvement, but this is the closest we've seen to a d--- near flawless mixture of the genres to date.
Aug 6, 2015 @Skippy I'll just leave it right here http://www.savingcountrymusic.com/why-yelawolfs-love-story-is-important-to-country-music
Aug 6, 2015 Alright I can see the truth in all this, just one thing I disagree with, and that's that he isn't some alternative artist. If HIS delivery is still rapping mostly, he's a rapper. His music is rap.
Aug 6, 2015 I mean I never said he's traditional, it's just that everything he does still fits neatly within the rap range. I feel like we're saying mostly the same thing, but I'm saying that even those alternative genres you listed still fall under the overall umbrella of rap
