There is such a thing as being ill informed tho. There's a difference between ppl having different taste and ppl making outrageous claims with no foundation under them.

Not true all the time (i know u said 90% but even then that seems extreme).
Like if someone says future sucks because all he talks about is how much money he has and how many drugs he does, you cant hide behind "well thats my opinion." Thats just ill informed, and thats where a productive discussion can emerge. Stubbornesss and pride or whatever else gets in between ppl and admitting theyre wrong takes nothing away from the potential discussion.

i won't budge on that 90% lol, extreme or not. music discussions are generally giant s--- shows

and being corrected when ill informed doesn't usually change much since as you said, people can be stubborn. and no, admitting they're wrong is something almost no one can ever do in a discussion because of their egos, i don't think i've seen but a handful of people ever admit they're seriously 'wrong' in a discussion on here. it definitely takes away from a potential discussion and people insult the s--- out of each other over it

Thats true about almost anything worth having a discussion about tho. Ppl are trying to prove their point.

But like i said i dont think people being too stubborn takes anything away from the dicussions that can be had. Ive had discussions on here that didnt necessarily end in me saying "im wrong youre right, you win." but they didnt have to in order for me (and anyone else reading) to take anything new away from them.
