    it's either writers block or some kind of creative stagnation

    he alluded to it heavily in GOF w/the whole 'recycling material/subject matter/song formulas' theme.

    & Porter (or was it Rosenberg) replied to a tweet regarding new Em material sayin "material isn't put out frequently cause its not always good material" somethin like that, i vaguely remember readin about it on a thread here.

    & Em said in his Zane Lowe interview that he was glad to be involved with Southpaw cause he needed a change of scenery (him sayin that made it seem like he was lookin for somethin new that'll give him creative energy)

    I might be (i probably am) hella overthinkin it, & i could be wrong, but yea thats my 2 cents

    That part about Southpaw sounds like bs when thinking about the subject matter on that project! It was nothing like the 8 Mile OST, where he was actually writing as Jimmy...

    Well i meant that it seemed like he was looking for creative energy & found it with Southpaw. I'm talkin bout him bein in a creative rut before Southpaw tho (& afterwards but i'll get to that later) -- he wanted a change of scenery so he did Southpaw, likely wanted that change for a reason, either he was drained beforehand, or bored, reached a stagnant point, whatever.

    & now the movies BEEN out, for like 8-9 months, & he's been more reclusive than ever since then, having only done 2 guest verses & a Weeknd remix in the meantime. Either that creative energy burned out after Southpaw & he's in a rut/figurin his s--- out again or he's workin on something big (solo album) & is keeping quiet because of it. Hoping its the latter.

    Yeah yeah I got that. I don't think he's in a rut anymore. I also don't really understand why he took Souhtpaw (other than obligations), as the project was really rushed - ESPECIALLY Phenomenal. I guess sometimes a deadline is good for your work.

    Guessing we'll get an announcement in August similar to the MMLP2 cycle.

    Hopefully a feature or something drops before then though cuz I'm starving
