    He started off well, with the Storm freestyle, lost his momentum the way he marketed the album, and then the actual content about Trump on Revival was generic bs that everyone was already talking about and saying, he said nothing different. His political jabs, if, had been executed in a wittier fashion, I'm sure Em would have sold a lot more.

    Also, he has proven with Revival, that he just isn't willing to experiment with the overall sound of his records, his only creativity is his lyricism and his rhymes, while everything else about the song in itself sounds sub par and repetitive. He needs a drastic shift in the way he approaches music and explore new ideas to get people to be interested in him again.

    It was—and then they killed it by completely f---ing up the promo.

    Bad choice of singles, not many appearances pre-album promoting it. It was genuinely awful. How they can so poorly manage one of the biggest artists of all time is insane..

    ..that 30 second clip of the Berzerk snippet/revealing MMLP2 got me way more hyped than I ever was for Revival; then we got other appearances, they released Rap God which broke the internet.

    He would’ve sold a h--- of a lot more copies if he literally tweeted the date of the album out of nowhere & dropped Believe or something. None of the f---ing around with release dates and not telling the fans what’s going on. And on top of that, the album was not worth 4 years of waiting lol

    There has to be another project coming this year ...the lack of sales for one thing...Paul bout to be dry need to reup Def Jam release Boogie Yelawolf and new Em project

    Yeah, he has no balls with aesthetic.

    I mean, he used to have a new look and vibe each album, but that's because it kept working. When it really didn't hit for him and he was so confident @ Relapse, that's when he fell apart. His insecurity got the better of him... Been away, 'am I out of touch?' 'let me check out what everybody else is doing and do similar' etc. - he followed trends and took advice. That was his first truly generic album. His first non-him album.

    He did actually overhaul his sound and vibe for SSLP > MMLP, MMLP > TES, TES > Encore... Encore > Relapse, even Relapse > Recovery, even though Recov was his first sell-out move... it was BEYOND different from Relapse and anything he'd ever created.

    But since 2010, he has CLUNG to that Recovery formula. He has done it repeatedly on every project now for 7 years, including trying to replicate it with Yelawolf and SH, terribly, and f---ing up their debuts. It's like he wont accept it's not some magic formula which will work forever. LET GO ffs. Create some real art.

    Recovery also marked his first album where he'd stop focussing on the hook, and go with a pre recorded hook from the producer and try to write his own verses around it. Recovery also started the era of exceedingly long verses that lead to a lot of filler bars being spit on MMLP2, and Revival. If he can cut down on those lengthy verses and keep it 20-24 bars and two verses or rarely 3 , find a new sound, content that's fresh, J Cole did it with KOD, work with people who actually have the guts to point out his shortcomings, that would be a start in the right direction.
    It is funny how all of what I said sounds so obvious yet Em has failed to incorporate this in his music for a long time now

    Koolo doesnt have any songs he was threated by FBI and he stopped buying songs from Louis Gibzen and people who got alot of eminem 2006 songs
