Oct 18, 2015 Ok this look hard as f---. is it safe to assume it will be better than 1/2/3 yet? Really looks like it's shaping up to be better.
Oct 18, 2015 I love the new poster. Excited that we finally have a woman as the main character. I also heard a rumor it was called the Life Planet/Star and it's run by the new Jedi Order or something. I think it's going to be great. Then again, if you look at the trailers for Episode 1-3, they were really exciting and looked really dope. And we all know how those turned out. I'm still hyped af though.
Oct 18, 2015 Honestly I thought the plot line was great. But I felt they were poorly executed. Dialogue was really bad, Acting wasn't so great (Not the fault of the actors- leave Hayden Christensen alone), Poor/boring and rather simple camera work during scenes that don't involve action, and although they were great at the time, the special effects haven't aged well due to the over use of them. Although the excessive CGI wouldn't have bothered me if the movies were good.
Oct 18, 2015 I think it was executed great. And for every ounce of what I would actually consider bad dialogue or acting, there's equal amount in the OT, so it doesn't bother me. I don't agree with the camera work being bad either. The special effects can be iffy at times, but that's what happens to a lot of movies with a scifi/fantasty setting. Don't agree that it was excessive either, they pushed the boundaries in the same way the OT did.
Oct 18, 2015 Thats a good point that no one ever seems to bring up. The OT had a lot of really bad dialogue. And I mean, some of it was really bad. Same goes for the acting. I do feel however they were better executed than the prequels. I felt Episode's 1 & 2 were boring. However Episode 3 was a major improvement Imo. The flaws that were there in the first 2 weren't as present in the 3rd film. I'll give em another watch to see how I feel about them now. Honestly, despite the fact that I prefer the OT, I will say nostalgia has a thing for blinding people. A lot of people hated on Jurassic World, but personally I enjoyed it far more than the previous films in the series, and I think that's down to the fact that I never saw them as a kid. The special effects for the originals didn't wow me like they did for people back in the day. The fourth one did and I absolutely loved it.
Oct 18, 2015 There is a lot of nostalgia both ways, and... just differing tastes I guess. It's just a touchy subject for me since it seems it's become the popular thing to do when talking about SW to s--- on the prequels, regardless of what people might actually think about them, and it pisses me off because it's like I can't catch any news about these new films without some jab thrown in at my beloved trilogy. EDIT: also loved Jurassic World more than the others too
Oct 18, 2015 I hear that. The hate is getting pretty old at this point. it's been 16 years since Episode 1, time to get over it. But if your ever interested in a different opinion, check out RedLetterMedia's review of all three prequels. Weather you like the prequels or not, they really are quite funny.
