Dec 30, 2015 At long last I have finally seen this movie. And man was I impressed. I'm too afraid to admit that this was better than Empire Strikes Back but I think it is. It has not ruined the series at all. It has made it better.
Dec 31, 2015 Keen to watch how Kylo and Rey's stories pan out. Kylo must have a bit of Anakin in him. Losing his mother and the thought of losing Padme were what triggered Anakin's anger and hatred which turned him to the dark side, I wonder how Kylo got to where he is. Definitely family related. I got a theory that might sound a bit stupid, but Kylo and Rye might have been twins and Han and Leia thought that lost Rey. Maybe Han/Leia have always shown favouritism towards Rey and never seemed to forget about her which caused Kylo to get jealous. Not sure about Rye being Luke's daughter, was the Jedi Code still a thing?
Jan 1, 2016 Finally got around to seeing this. Thought it was great, as a movie it's easily better than episode 1, 2 and 3 - the acting and dialogue alone was a thousand times better (seriously have no idea how anyone can say that those movies are better when the acting/dialogue overall is so f---ing poor). Definitely a great addition to the Star Wars series and it looks like 7 has built quite a bit of anticipation for 8 and 9 now. Do feel like this will have some big "secret" or twist in the next film. It seems like they are kinda taking a lot of scenes from 4,5,6 and paying homage to them in a way, that along with all the un-revealed history of certain main characters/named characters wearing masks, i feel it leaves a lot of doors open for them to go "surprise!". Like others have said, Rey being Luke's daughter seems a little predictable - wouldn't be surprised if a curve ball was thrown. Problems with the movie; -Kylo isn't intimidating as a bad guy at all and comes off as a complete loser fa----. I mean seriously, if you came face-to-face with Darth Vader you'd be like "oh f---" and likely piss yourself at the sound of his voice alone. Kylo on the other hand, angry tantrum throwing dickhead. All it looks like. I get it's meant to be "vader/annakins rage" but to me it feels more like if vader had force powers and threw tantrums as a toddler. Can't wait for Kylo to die (hopefully).
