Jan 2, 2016 It is. What Future/Dungeon Fam did was take the key themes and sound direction off that album and mix it with trap. That's astronaut music in a nutshell, with some retrofuturistic slang on the side. Sure the result might sound very different, but without the influence of 808s, Future would just be generic Atlanta trap with nothing special added at all.

He's been pretty open about taking in a lot of drill influences (b/c its Chicago or whatevr), and that's been a pretty consistent cornerstone of his sound from Cruel Summer all the way to Yeezus. Those rhythms mixed with Kanyes signature autotune might sound reminiscent to Future? I don't think he sounds like future at all but its w/e
