also, i like the idea of this thread. maybe expedite the voting process to 3 days instead of a week because i'm pretty sure we'll be speaking about undeniable classics for a while

but we're not really voting the albums onto it... we're voting them off. honestly all of those albums deserve to be on the list regardless (in my opinion anyway). and none of them really deserve to be excluded. missing certain albums will dampen the credibility that you're trying to achieve

that's just how I see it.

To vote albums on one at a time ensures its credibility. Albums that are voted on at first but are oftener talked about as classics will be nominated an future weeks. So you're not really voting them off the list, you're just not voting them onto the list this very moment.

In order to make the first few rounds go by faster, like @Fazers said I will change the voting period to 3 days instead of a week until we start getting more not so agreed upon nominations.

I could vote for any one of these albums on any given day to be a classic. They're all under that category. I don't get the setup of this.

Shouldn't we all be nominating classics? And those albums with the most nominations get picked for the list? All of these albums in OP are classics.

All albums are nominated by suggestions, yes and how often they are regarded as classics. Going with the most obvious first. I agree with you that all albums in OP in classics, however some don't consider MMLP one which is the exact reason we must vote on all of them.

I've explained many times above, voting on each one ensures the lists credibility. The first few rounds will be obvious.

it broadened what people could say. Eminem was NWA on an even broader level when it comes to censorship. The album, along with his first 3, has certified Eminem along with names such as Elvis, The Beatles, and Rolling Stones. Dude was on top of the f---ing world. It was fastest selling album ever.

BTW all these albums classics (ones up for voting now)

Has to be Illmatic, even though I like two other albums on the list better. Illmatic is the most classic hip-hop album EVER, imo.

    It is official.

Winning by a comfortable margin My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy by Kanye West is officially the first album to be certified classic by Section Eighty.

"Like Picasso, he acknowledges that the chief enemy of creativity is good taste--which is just as well, since it's not a quality with which he seems over-burdened on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. For which we should all be thankful." - The Independent UK.

In 2nd place this round was Illmatic, which means it will be again nominated this round. In a tie for 3rd place The Marshall Mathers LP and The Chronic will sit at least one week out until it may be nominated again. All Eyez On Me came in last place and will sit out at least 3 rounds until being nominated again.

    This weeks nominations:

    Nas - Illmatic

50 Cent - Get Rich Or Die Tryin'

    Jay Z - Reasonable Doubt

    Wu-Tang Clan - 36 Chambers

The Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die
