8/10 for me.
I love the track. There's just so much going on sonically, you got: artsy synths, some chick wailing in the background, some chants, Allan & Theo doing some melodic singing, then there's the loud & distorted horns, Mccartney whistling while on the accoustic guitar, Vernon singing over some f----- up synths. Yet, though there's a LOT going on, everything comes together & works in perfect cohesion, the track is d--- well executed as a whole. The end result is a dope, interesting a--- track, when it comes to sound.
Ye did his thing too, he kept his s--- simple & catchy, & it really worked here.
My only complaint is that the track feels a bit too clean & polished, i definitely like the Brit Awards version more, since it just feels more raw.Last edited: Jan 3, 2016 -

Week 5
Guilt Trip - Yeezus
Excuse the pitched up version in the video I just posted. Go listen to your own version. This is a song off Kanye's Yeezus album. It features Kid Cudi and it's produced by a whole group of people including the man himself; Kanye West, Mike Dean, S1, Travi$ Scott and Ackeejuice Rockers. The sample Kanye used from this song is off Pusha T ft. Popcaan & Travi$ Scott - Blocka (Ackeejuice Rockers Remix). Yeezy sampled this song really well, I certainly prefer his version. They used the Popcaan part for the verse of this song. GWAAN DEM A DEM A GWAAN.
My appreciation for Yeezus is much great now than my first impressions of it. This song has definitely aged well for me. It's probably one of the songs that I visit back to the most when I listen to Yeezus. It's probably because I've overplayed the others songs. I find it such a relaxing song, Kanye and the people involved in this song really have done a good job composing it.
This song only contains 1 verse by Kanye. He talks about a past relationship, one he messed up. He uses this line to describe it: Peekin' through the keyhole, the door locked by myself. As he looks back at what he has done. By getting over this girl he goes off and drinks, while the girl moves on and gets knocked up by his crew. Kanye done give a f---, he be rocking the fur like Chewbacca.
Star Wars fur, yeah, I'm rockin' Chewbacca
The one Chief Rocka, number-one Chief Rocka
Kid Cudi finishes the song off with an interlude between the hooks. It was a nice touch to the song and relevant to the story and Kanye is still confused to why the girl left him. Can't really fault it imo, it flowed well with the song.
Jakey's rating: 7.5/10 not his best but I quite like it, it has good replay value for me.
Rules: Give this song a rating/10 with and optional opinion/review.

Oh s--- Two Words!! 9.5/10 easily, Once again look how Kanye managed to fit in two different artists like Mos & Free together and make the end product sound so natural (further elaborates this on Last Call). The beat reaches and grabs your soul famOrdinary Joel, Posh P and Jakey like this. -

It's a nice smooth song. I really like the piano and vocal samples throughout. The scratches help to give it a great vibe too. Of course Kanye does a good job. It's just very chilled and laid back - a pleasant song. 7/10.shahidah, Jakey and Ordinary Joel like this.
