Aug 27, 2017 Didn't watch part 1 because I didn't want to ruin the perfect franshise that conjuring is Is watching part 1 essential if I want to see 2?
Aug 27, 2017 saw The Inside (2012). buncha young ppl go to abandoned warehouse type thing & unexpectedly get held hostage by r--ist psychopaths. s--- goes down. then like demons come in & it gets crazy. pardon the vagueness, don't wanna spoil s---. this one of the scarier, more uneasy found footage movies i've seen. no jump scare bs. s--- got a 3/10 on imdb but nvm that, what i say is far superior to what reviewers say anyways
Aug 27, 2017 Critics s--- anyways. Mostly when I read reviews I see them cover a lot of stuff: what the director did before that, what kind of style they use, how original it is, and mention a lot of other bs but no talk about the actual movie lmao (same with music btw). I mostly read fan opinions because they give their opinion on the actual movie.
Sep 9, 2017 Watched It Follows last night for the 1st time.. expectations were sky high and I liked it.. but still, mixed feelings about it @Charlie Work @DetroitSkills @Changeling @VR46 @King V tbhh
Sep 9, 2017 fkn love that movie. the cast, setting, way it looked, how original the story was. prob in my top 10 horror movies of the decade. but yeah it aint perfect what were ur mixed feelings/gripes
Sep 9, 2017 I'm not as in love with it as the most, but I think it's solid. The camerawork grew on me the second time around. Those 360 shots seem so indulgent, but they really do work at building anticipation as to what could enter the frame and remaining cognoscente as to how much of your surroundings you can't see at one time. I still think opening with one kind of defeats the purpose they come to serve later though. Mitchell's debut The Myth of the American Sleepover is pretty good too if you like those teen lit coming of age flicks. I think it does a better job at building characters whereas It Follows is a movie built around a gimmick that doesn't lend much diversity to how the scenes play out. At least it's a good gimmick.
Sep 9, 2017 Oh, and check out the work of Gregary Crewdson. Mitchell said his photography inspired the look of It Follows. I like his work more than I like the movie tbh.
Sep 9, 2017 It was probably already mentioned but the new Annabelle is pretty scary, a lot better than the first one
Sep 9, 2017 @King V @Charlie Work the camera work, actors etc were all 10/10 there were a few issues with the story for me. For example I honestly am interested what the f--- that thing was.. a demon? And why the sex, its like a supernatural std lol. Maybe there will be a part 2 to explain (I hope not btw) but I kinda thought it was lame to let us know nothing about the why. Also she probably had sex with those 3 guys on the boat but how does it make sense when u can only pass it on to one person? And I how could she sleep for the whole night without the monster following here and the next day it follows her an hour after she traveled half of the country? We have been told its slow but that changes throughout the movie.. were the 3 guys killed ? Besides this I thought the movie itself was amazing and I loved how they filmed s--- etc. And the story was original imo.
Sep 9, 2017 i didnt like it that much , too slow for me from what i remember i watched annabelle creation one week ago and it was pretty nice
Sep 9, 2017 It Follows was brilliant.. a very intelligent horror film Speaking of an "IT".. I saw 'IT' last night and it was amazing..possibly right up there with The Exorcist, & Conjuring 2 as the greatest horror films of all time
Sep 9, 2017 True but I had a few issues w the story as I stated. d--- lookin forward to watching IT. Was it scarier than the original?
Sep 9, 2017 Well honestly I like the original. But it feels more like a drama/coming of age story to me than a horror movie. Sure, the 2nd part has some creepy parts like the famous scene but I never thought it was scary.. more thriller/drama. Good to hear this one is scary!
