try and mess around with some genres or just a style in general that's out of your comfort zone, even if you're not planning on producing it in the long run
it only helps to have more options when it comes time for you to sit down and work on your real stuff

just start out by looking up [rapper/producer you like] beat tutorial on youtube they're p easy to follow
if you want to get into sampling just google sampling tutorial or if you want to learn synths or whatever just google [thing you want to learn] tutorial theres a s--- load of info out there
