Oct 30, 2017 I'm gonna start watching 90s NJPW and catch up on legends like mutoh, hashimoto and chono
Oct 31, 2017 If you got any random Japan classics you should send em over Catching up on the Super Jr tag tournament. Totally didn't just watch Hiromu's matches Hiromu/Bushi vs Dragon Lee/Titan - 4.5 Hiromu/Bushi vs Roppongi 3K - 4.25 Gotta move that AJ/Balor match to 4.5, what was I thinking. Also watched Rey/Psychosis from Bash at the Beach, crazy what these guys were doing in the 90's. 4.75.
Oct 31, 2017 Will do bro That first tag match really that good??? Which show was that on I'll have to check it out I got AJ/Finn at 4.25...it was a good North American match but I can't justify anything higher after what I've seen this year, and Cena/AJ was better and I got those at 4.5
Oct 31, 2017 The crowd heat and Bullet Club story went a long way with me. Even at 4.75, the work was New Japan lite with more holds. First tag match was that good. Hiromu and Dragon Lee have some of the best chemistry in the business and always try to k--- each other. Bushi and Titan work well with them and are obviously great high flyers themselves. Some cool sequences, lots of near falls. They're all CMLL guys and worked accordingly, exciting af. edit Oh and yeah it was on the 10/23 show
Nov 1, 2017 So Power Struggle is in like four days. Thought it was on like the 12th. The Young Bucks/Titan & Dragon Lee (!) Omega/Beretta Roppongi 3K/Super 69 Chaos/LIJ Suzuki/Yano Scurll/Ospreay Tanhashi/Ibushi I'm down with all these matches. So hype.
Nov 1, 2017 Tanahashi and Ibushi should be good, what's the chance Ibushi takes the belt off of him? None ?
Nov 1, 2017 I'd have Ibushi lose under the assumption that he has the Omega match at Wrestle Kingdom. That match doesn't need a title and won't be for the US as it is, plus it gives Tanahashi something to do for whoever else they want in that spot with him.
Nov 1, 2017 Nope, don't think he's got another ROH title match and this should be the last defense in New Japan. Sure as s--- isn't gonna be dropping it to Trent.
Nov 1, 2017 I think they see the Ibushi match as being big enough to the point where they don't need the title to make it important. I guess it could be. There's a personal story going in, so part of me thinks they go all in with that instead of making it about the championship. The thing is that since Ibushi isn't willing to settle down with any particular company, he's not going to be pushed to the level he should be. They need that commitment, especially when they're getting over a new title and starting their North American expansion. Kenny would be going over regardless, but being for the title (and it being defended in ROH) would take away from some of the intrigue for me. Ibushi isn't taking the title.
