Jul 3, 2017 Imagine a title vs title match vs Okada at KOPW Now that I've calmed down Ropongi/Bucks - 4.5 Omega/Lethal - 3.5 ZSJ/Ishii - 3.5 Ten Man Tag - 4 (Hiromu was a f---ing star, have to point that out) Chaos/Bullet Club - 3.75 Omega/Ishii - 4.75 Really good shows, fantastic event overall

Jul 3, 2017 I just finished watching the g1 finals match from last night. I really enjoy watching Omega. He's skilled and has a wide variety of moves making the match entertaining. I was very underwhelmed by Ishii though from the couple g1 matches I've seen him wrestle. He's an average wrestler. He doesn't have many cool moves and majority I've seen from him was just punching, clothes lines. I feel they should have put someone more entertaining against omega so we could of watched 2 talented wrestlers putting on a show. Not saying the match was bad just Ishii was really slow compared to omega. I'll give him credit for being a bigger dude and wrestling that long though after wrestling earlier too. Omega though, one of top wrestlers currently imo.
Jul 3, 2017 You'll come to love Ishii if you watch more, I was thought the exact same thing. NJPW went through an awkward phase in the mid 2000's where they were bringing in real fighters to have s---t fights against other wrestlers. Saw Ishii in the same way as someone who only gets by doing basic MMA s---. Definitely one of the best wrestlers in the world right now. The bottom one vs Shibata is one of my favorites ever, barely ten minutes long. Check it out if you get the chance.
Jul 3, 2017 You just have to get used to the style of some of the 'strong style' workers in Japan so you can see and enjoy the nuances of their style Ishii is a top level talent imo
Jul 7, 2017 I agree with @Changeling. When I fist saw ishii fight I thought he was very awkward and a disappoint mismatch to Omega in their first fight but he's quickly become one of my favorites to watch
Jul 7, 2017 Just finished Night 1. Okada and Rhodes had a great match, but Omega/Elgin was MOTN without a doubt
Jul 7, 2017 @WrestlingBros whipped this up w/ some feedback and suggestion from my man @Raziel we will begin spreading wrestling discussion across two threads, one for WWE and one for NJPW & other indy promotions (primarily NJPW) a group will be made soon for NJPW fans to join so they may be tagged from now discussion of non-WWE product will be made here and the WWE thread will be used exclusively for that of which pertains to the McMahon-promotion if you have any questions or suggestions, let me now I will alert you when the new usergroup is available! this will be a place for flooding all discussion on New Japan professional wrestling so take advantage of it!
Jul 7, 2017 Of all the stuff I experienced from the G1 Special my biggest takeaways were Naito and Zack Sabre Jr I think. I found Naito to be quite interesting to watch and enjoyed his singles match alot. Zack' s brand of wrestling was very impressive too, I loved how cocky of a technical wrestler he was. Also I found out that my dislike of the young bucks was unwarranted thanks to @Changeling
