Less woman are getting abortions now than when they were illegal.

Kinda makes it a moot point, doesn't it?

It's because weirdos like @Perry The Platypus have lost the culture war and kids get sex ed and don't have to stick wire hangers up themselves before they say 10 Hail Mary's.

i hate that we live in a culture where someone mocking you for a laughably awful blog post can inspire, like...pride, or something. every time your name comes up i chuckle at how wide the gap is between how smart you think you are and how smart you actually are.

Yeah that's about right. Pragmatic blue collar dem I guess.

    @reservoirGod good post

@Perry The Platypus good post lol. Pls stay -- though I disagree on trade. It hasn't been an issue for the base (who lap up stupid cultural issues) but it was a tenet of the GOP establishment for a long time

    I'm definitely not.

Donald J. Trump is the Republican President.. The last time he was coherent was the 2000's when he was a Hillary supporting NYC Anti-Iraq War Limousine Liberal Democrat... The most Republican thing about him at the time was how he outsourced the manufacturing of his name brand products.

Today half of Republicans don't know who George Will is and the other half hate him because he won't lie and say Donald Trump is a competent President and is anything but a opportunist con artist with fastly diminishing faculties.

The Republicans are a Party without an ideology... They started to lose it in the 2000s when the CEC decided to back Bush43 no matter his inept cause... Then when the CEC and the actual elected Republican elected officals decided that the GOP's only stance was to oppose anything that President Obama stood for instead of governing and legislation was just taking the rudder off the ship and throwing it into the ocean.

Now the worst case scenario has happend and an (R) President who doesn't have enough sense or leadership to give a speech to the Boy Scouts is President.

The Republican Party is lost... But more popular than ever.

Republicans are nearly 100% tribal now... That only vote (R) they hate (D)'s and act like they should be able to murder them.

Tomi Larhen is a good example of the Republican Party... A dumb blonde b---- who 70 year old racists want to f---... She got famous for calling "Liberals" baby killers and spending 100s of hours arguing for the repeal of Obamacare... Meanwhile she is Pro-choice and recently and inadvertently admitted she was lucky to be on Obamacare.

A decade ago the planks of the Republican Party as an almost monolithic group included:

    Prolonging the Iraq War
    Banning Gay Marriage
    Banning Stem Cell Research

These views are completely out of the mainstream now. Democratic ideas win out even after Democrats lose office because the Democrats stand py practicality and common sense while Republicanism has become more of a lifestyle brand with no real ideas... Just a "cool" thing to be while believing voting Democrat is "uncool."

The average Republican isn't Conservative, they are Anti-Liberal. They hate the "Lib-Tards"... They want to "drink liberal tears."

The average Democrat is Liberal, Progressive or Pro-Labor (or a combination)... They have an ideology and aren't defined by a hatred of 50%+ of Americans.

    nope, just political savvy.

so join Jill Stein? Don't know where you live, but party will survive without you lol

Nope. I've described my calculation pretty thoroughly. reread

Hold on, hold on. We all know you're a humongous p---- lol. So stop. "Principles"? You sounds like a Republican. You can have principles -- I'll take a Democratic House that's actually working to improve the lives of american families.

Agreed -- this is also an issue. There's plenty of ways to combat the GOP. **note: you mostly post on here, so I question how politically active you are irl lol.

Highly, highly doubt this would happen. Did you follow the recent debate over the repeal of the ACA in a Republican Senate? Again, reread my posts.

    o ok. good sentence

aw marc/charlie is in his lenin phase. qt

pfft, because I'm not spouting off #revolutionary gibberish? grow up.

I mean, this is about message coordination (this is for you too @WPG). Remember the Missouri moderate democratic gubernatorial candidate endorsed by the NRA? Was winning the whole time. What happened after Jason kandor and HRC flooded the state with their (comparatively much more) liberal ads? All three lost.

Do you realize how many Republican congressmen exist in states with a state-wide Democratic officeholder? (Note: I should know later this week at work lmao.) but the answer is: a lot. Voting blocs that could conceivably go Democratic with the right tweak. There's a reason why you're seeing folks like Howard Dean get upset about this lol

It's important to recognize that while abortion is often seen as an economic issue-- many see it as a moral one. Or if it IS viewed as an economic issue, it's not a predominant one. That's what makes it such a dicey social issue. There's layers of sophistication to this, as you know, that go beyond accusing -yawn- the party of selling out.

@Enigma stay winnin. marc/charlie needs to Like all my posts or gtfo

None of this gets done if we get all wrapped up in purist ideological fights. We might as well just be an off branch of the Green Party at that point. Our government isn't set up for rapid and vast amounts of change in short time. The founders created three branches of government so change would come slow. If part of getting to a single-payer system, criminal justice reform, gun control laws etc. means we have to cater to some pro-life Dems, so be it. I'm all for taking baby steps than attempting one huge leap and getting no where. We can't keep trying to push costal politics down rural Americans throats.

I try to keep things high level, a debate hinged on substance... on sxn80, it always comes down to a racist troll making base, creepy personal assumptions about @WPG,,,,, a person he's never met
