Aug 22, 2017 808s is fantastic tho, what's the problem with liking it more than mbdtf or yeezus? on any given day those 3 switch spots for me randomly. ain't no shame in liking any of those 3 the most and i only throw tlop in over the others because I've never been able to really get into pre-808s ye
Aug 22, 2017 Hold up now Game is definitely not on my top album list That was Gustavo's poorly formatted shitpost
Aug 22, 2017 ^ i realize that......but the other guy also stated its his favorite albums.......so i don't get why big country would react that way
Aug 23, 2017 that doesn't mean I can't make fun of it as a choice haha I know I was just responding to your mods message, sorry for the confusion.
Aug 24, 2017 Spoiler @SLAYAR @Skrt skrt @Stevio @Michael Myers @Zeugma @King V @swr @Mraczewsky @Ordinary Joel @RobTheDude @TimmyT , @Fire Squad and @BigCountry 2. http://www.xxlmag.com/files/2015/03/g----Starr-Moment-Of-Truth.jpg g--- Starr - Moment of Truth This is the most underappreciated album ever. First and foremost this record is front to back nothing but flawless vintage beautiful beats produced entirely by DJ Premier. As far as pure hip hop records go I think this is the most masterfully produced album ever... Not only that but the amount of content woven in this record by Guru is insane...racism, poverty, life and death, friendship, crime, love, religion and just so much more...it can be both uplifting and depressing, it's got laid back tracks to chill to, and it's got some of the loudest and hardest posse cuts I've ever heard. Even got a Scarface feature. every track is essential I think most of y'all have heard the title track (Moment of Truth, one of the best songs ever-- if you havent you have to check it out) but here is another one of my favorite joints on the album 1. Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy This is the album for me. I don't care how played out it is by this point to praise this record but since it came out, it's been the pinnacle of the game...it's the one album where everything in the genre comes together and meets in the middle perfectly, and out popped an absolute gem. But that analogy sells it short because this was not something that was just thrown together or happened, you can tell it was meticulously crafted and masterfully produced and put together. Since this came out however many years ago there's not another record I've listened to more and yet unlike other albums I've never grew tired of it and I don't think I ever will. Everyone's heard this album by this point and already formed an opinion one way or another so I'm just gonna leave it at that. Runaway and Blame Game are probably my favorite songs ever.
Aug 24, 2017 also the "s--- on mbdtf" crowd (i know these ppl actually exist) dont even bother coming in here, no one cares
Aug 24, 2017 nice complete list. that gangstarr album is dope man. R.I.P. guru. and speaking of that, i saw D.J. Premier live......not with guru.........but with royce. he was great. and royce was cool too kanye's MBDTF is great too. i think the second half of kanye's career.......he's been more creative. he really switched things up after his third album. he's goofy, but what a talented guy!
Aug 24, 2017 Cool top 5 picks, was thinking Ready To Die would top the list. Donuts & MBDTF are top top albums, can't stop praising either enough
Aug 24, 2017 I love Ready to Die, it was my favorite album once upon a time. The top 3 are super close and can shift depending on the day but this is where they stay the majority of the time.
Aug 24, 2017 Lord knows how many times my top 5 albums have switched around lol. Still it's dope to see someone make a excellent effort like yours to make a list and then justify your choices, all of them are essentials for any hip hop fan. Might be compelled to make a top 20 albums myself now, this could be the start of a trend
