As Global Change is the most important issue currently facing humanity, do you think rappers should be talking about it more? In 'conscious rap', racism and political corruption are some common topics but you never hear MCs rapping or even talking about things like climate change, deforestation, overpopulation etc. Is it just not cool to talk about this sort of stuff in the hip-hop communty?

This stuff is very important to me, as it should be for everyone, i think the hip-hop community needs to more vocal about these issues, instead of just talking about the generic issues like racism, police corruption etc.

Rappers should talk about what they feel is important. Nothing shittier than a rapper talking about something they aren't feeling at all.

But on the other hand, everybody - not just rappers - should feel environmental issues are important. So I guess I'd have to say yes.

imagine being a profession where u literally get paid millions to talk and influence people and all you talk about is getting p---- and drinking alcohol in the club instead of bringing attention to real world problems

to me I find it stupid theres a scale of how much you care for the enivornment depending on which part of the left- right spectrum you are. For example: Everyone trusts a mechanic knows how to fix cars, regardless of whether you are left or right (stupid anology i know), yet for climate science etc , one half largely chooses to disbelieve the experts...its just so illogical.

Rappers are so far down on the totem pole of responsibility when it comes to reducing carbon emissions that it's silly to grill them for it.

    I think rappers will eventually.

We are already starting to see some artists like Mick Jenkins and Asaad talk about the importance of water.
