Disclaimer: this could be considered "copypasta" however, I am the original author and the event that occurred here are 100% to have accurately taken place. I am posting it here to get your opinion on it, as I have posted it on both HHS and reddit, and the reception was terrible.
It was right around when Recovery dropped that I really started getting obsessed with Eminem. I'd research every aspect of his life, and I happened to stumble upon Hailie's photo that surfaced that same year, you know the one.
Over the summer, I create a multitude of threads on 4chan asking it's members for any information relating to Hailie. Her school was actually a very well kept secret at the time- prior to her homecoming in 2014 there was absolutely no information as to where she went to school. This proved difficult, but I kept pressing on.
After countless trolls, people calling me weird/obsessed, and people telling me to k--- myself- someone bit.
Near the beginning of the 2010 school year, someone claimed to go to the same high school as Hailie. I didn't believe them at first, but they showed me a yearbook photo and the likeness was uncanny. After much convincing and bargaining, I bought the information from the anonymous source for $1500 via paypal.
I booked my bus ride to Michigan a week later and was on my way.
I planned on casually/accidentally bumping into her somehow but there was no way I could get inside the school without looking completely suspicious, I was 21 years old after all. So I would just ride my bike around the general area the entire day on the look out for Hailie. I played out all sorts of scenarios in my head until I settled on this one:
I was going to bike by her and look at her, then pretend to slip and almost fall off my bike to make her laugh, then ask her name, tell her she was beautiful, and ask for her number.
After the 4th day of literally biking around the same area for 14 hours a day, I got stopped by two unmarked Police vehicles on Greenfield Road. I'll never forget this day. Two white officers got out and walked up to me to ask me questions, and I think someone caught on or noticed me because it went like this:
Officer: "hey sir is there a reason you're hanging out around a high school?"
Me: "what do you mean I'm just biking down the road"
Officer: "we've got complaints that you've been circling the area several times and found it suspicious, what are you looking for?"
Me: "I'm just getting exercise I don't know what you mean"
Officer: "Do you have any identification on you?"
Me: "Do I have to show you ID? Am I under arrest?"
Officer: "Would you please step off the bike"
Me: "Am I being detained or am I free to go?"
Cop: "We've got a call for suspicious activity, can you identify yourself?"
Me: "No"
Cop: "Why not?"
Me: "I don't carry identification"
Cop: "Why not?"
Me (being a smart a---): "In case cops try to stop me, they won't be able to identify who I am"
In hindsight this was a really bad move, because they got pissed. They walked towards me and tried to grab me, and I barely managed to slip out of their grasp and then take off... but I had to leave my bike behind.
One cop ran back into his cruiser and the other cop started chasing me on foot. The one chasing me kept yelling "GET ON THE f---ing GROUND" and this caused a bunch of high school kids hanging out on the field to turn and look at us, they started screaming "RUN! RUN!" and a bunch of other crap lel.
The cop in the cruiser drove up onto the grass I was running on, and tried to intercept me and cut me off, but I managed to maneuver myself between some trees and not get run over. I eventually got away by jumping some backyards, and thankfully the cops were fat and I easily outran them on foot, otherwise I'd have spent some time quality time in a Detroit jail.
After this incident I decided it really wasn't worth the risk to meet her, and what I was trying to do was stupid anyways. I kind of got a hard dose of reality and woke up out of my infatuation. I cancelled the last 2 days of my hotel and just went home early without my bike.
