Sep 27, 2017 @Cyreides I'm not gonna argue all day about Relapse lol I get that you like it and that's fine but I just think you're biased and we aren't going to get anywhere.
Sep 27, 2017 he rapped in a double time tempo for the most of it because the reception of his forever verse but the cadence is like different on every song
Sep 27, 2017 Sure man cadence was the wrong word there so I omitted it. I stand fully behind my post though not trying to hate on people that are into horror core or Recovery just speaking from a global perspective
Sep 27, 2017 I always hated Must Be The Ganja because eminem was proudly sober when he released Relapse and he had a song dedicated to smoking weed. Just seemed so disingenuous. I don't know why that bothered me back then. I just found that annoying for some reason. I also think it's a completely bland, boring, and mediocre song about a subject that is so played out. If you don't smoke weed you can't make a song about smoking weed. Period.
Sep 27, 2017 Who also happens to rob banks, burn s--- down, rapes/has sex with his mom on multiple occasions, cuts a kittens head off and sticks it in a mailbox, and kills his wife on multiple tracks etc etc It's not an idea that people just spread around dude. It's a) very obvious and b) made very f---ing clear in the album itself This whole bit about Recovery hinges entirely on your belief that Relapse was just super out of left field for Eminem and something "completely new" (disregarding this type of rap been around for far longer, and that as we already discussed, is absolutely just an extension of his Slim Shady persona), so this doesn't work as an argument at all. And it certainly doesn't make Recovery more of an Eminem album than Relapse. You outta ya god d--- mind?
Sep 27, 2017 Don't act like because I like Relapse I can't have a rational discussion about it, like I'm just sitting here with Relapse on repeat 24/7 or some s---. I barely ever listen to the d--- thing, let alone any Eminem. I routinely s--- on the man and his work ffs. I'm not biased lol. I'm just stating facts dude, Relapse is far more fitting as an Eminem album than Recovery. Relapse is just an extension of the dark s--- Eminem has always done. Recovery jumped the shark and went full on pop.
Sep 27, 2017 I hate agreeing with you but this is 100%. I don't know exactly how to word this, but the slim shady persona is a self destructive rapper who has nothing, who's hungry as f---, and doesn't give a f--- about anyone or anything who will say the most outlandish s--- just to get your attention and make you listen. And if you piss him off or stand in his way, he will address you directly with no filter.
Sep 27, 2017 It's not my fault Eminem highly focused shady into a serial killing r--ist and stripped the character/idea of its initial purpose and meaning. That's just my opinion not a fact. It it slim shady just because Eminem acts like it and says so? I'm not denying that, I'm saying he got it wrong on Relapse and made something different. I didn't say you can't have a rational opinion, infact I've said several times it's fine if people are into the type of album relapse is.
Sep 27, 2017 Relapse is not the same Slim Shady from SSLP, it's an evolved form, considering everything that's happened to Em since then. He went through some dark s---, it's honestly not a surprise he came out with that content at the other end of it. He talks about him still "flushing out the drugs" on Relapse but I believe it's him still flushing out the demons of that time, too.
Sep 27, 2017 How is saying that Relapse is more of an extension of all the dark s--- that Eminem did all throughout his career, and as a result, a more true Eminem album than Recovery, where he goes completely pop and sells out massively... not stating a fact?
Sep 27, 2017 I can't stand em as much as the next guy, but letsnot forget Gucci Mane just gave Jake Paul a verse.
Sep 27, 2017 Lol you're cherry picking. That's not all you or have have commented on. To take our conversation and say you're stating facts and I'm not is dumb.
