Most of those are cases where a disgruntled gunman with a gun gets confronted by a guard/cop or a premise owner/manager or even a civilian. I don’t think anyone is denying guns can stop bad people
We’re talking about an onslaught like Vegas or the Orlando shooting or the terror attacks in Europe where a place can become a sudden war zone. In situations like these, people who aren’t guards or cops would only make the situation worse if they’re also carrying or trying to s---t back
I mean if the guy in Vegas didn’t have access to such weapons in the first place, you wouldn’t have to arm other civilians to protect themselves from other civilians. It’s so illogicalPoohdini, Michael Myers, M Solo and 6 others like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

It’s a really r-----ed argument and anyone who thinks they can stop an attack like this because they’re carrying a gun has watched too many movies or played too many games
Let’s imagine just for fun:
You’re at an outdoor music festival in Vegas with your trusty gun and you hear a volley of gunshots and people and see bodies dropping. After you’ve somehow spotted which exact floor and which window of which building he’s shooting from, you pull out your massive sniper rifle (because your pistol is useless here) and get a quick clean head shot and prevent further casualties
You’re at an enclosed concert hall in Paris and out nowhere a group of people start firing AKs right behind you into the crowd. You immediately duck down dodging a few bullets then take aim (the slow motion effect in Max Payne would be rly helpful here) amongst the hudreds of people running around and quickly neutralise every terrorist
You’re going for a casual stroll along the beachside in Nice when you hear some commotion and turn around to see a massive truck speeding towards you through pedestrians. You take out your gun with no time to spare and manage a headshot, bringing the truck to a halt
You’re at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester when suddenly a massive nail bomb goes off and oh s--- you’re already blown to bits not much you can do there
There is nothing you can do with a gun in these situations except make matters worse. The only time guns are useful for selfdefense is something like a home invasion. Even in real combat in war zones soldiers aren’t rushing around shooting everyone they’re sitting behind cover half the day calling in support. Pro gun zealots have literally no common sense let alone knowledge in combat
The second amendment was written when America was a Wild West wasteland with ancient rifles and revolvers. Not a densley populated place with with automatic machine guns with unlimited amo lying around everywhere for everyone like today.
Old laws should be suitably tweaked as we progress as a society. Think about it what other group of lovely people hold onto outdated rules and laws at the expense of innocent people?Poohdini, Ordinary Joel, asvdawg and 6 others like this. -

He wasn't shooting accurately...he was shooting at a crowd of 22,000 people. He was just spraying the area randomly with automatic fire.smitty, Caine, DetroitDGAF and 5 others like this. -

HENCE, my "let's say he was in the crowd" comment. Regardless let's take any other mass shooting then. Where are the slack jawed gun nuts and why aren't they even attempting to stop these? Why hasn't one of these been stopped? By definition alone you 2nd amendment zealots are cowards. You can't protect yourself with your hands so you need a firearm to defend yourself. But you s--- heads are going to save the day? Right? FOH p----.Soldier, Michael Myers, Howie and 5 others like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

the u.s. needs to do something radical about its gun problem. i don't care what your ideology is. the numbers (in their raw form and especially when compared to other countries) are irrefutable.
can you imagine anything more cowardly than shooting at people with a machine gun from a quarter-mile away?Ordinary Joel, dkdnfbdjdkdddjdjfvcgfl, Guma and 5 others like this. -

Man this one's really hitting me hard, Vegas is such a fun place, one of my favorites places and I was just at this same spot where the concert was barely a month ago.
Plus this just seems even more crazy than usual for a mass shooting, well planned, bigger area, more shooters, probably more deaths.
Ugh, will the US ever learn?Ordinary Joel, Guma, UofLCard and 5 others like this.
