Basically accusing Manafort & his business partner Gates of being foreign agents of a pro-Russia Ukrainian political party, money laundering, tax evasion etc. Gates was also an assistance in Donald Trump’s campaign. These charges don’t appear to directly cover any campaign related activities but several of the accusation seem to have taken place while both Manafort & Gates were apart of the Trump campaign.
Oct 30, 2017 so in the normal course of a major criminal investigation, these indictments would be designed to turn those charged into witnesses. but trump is so trigger-happy that i don't think it's out of the realm of possibility he pushes the button on the whole thing and fires mueller, which in a normal year would trigger impeachment proceedings, but today who knows.

Oct 30, 2017 After all this shady s--- that went down this past year with trump, there were no serious moves to impeach trump. I don't ever see Trump being impeached. Hopefully, they somehow turn some of these guys against trump and gather direct evidence against him. I just don't see it happening though. Trump is too powerful and has too much money and could stall the legal process for probably his entire term in office. Regardless, from what I was reading earlier into this they still don't have any evidence of trump himself doing any wrongdoings. A conspiracy case is all I see here against him.

Oct 30, 2017 Well, regardless of what trump associates did — russia interfered in the election on their own behalf via leaks (emails) & propaganda (social media ads/fake accounts/memes etc.). What we know now is that there were people in the trump campaign that were willing & sought out to work with the Russians. Something that trump & his administration have endlessly denied.
