Nov 10, 2017 It’s not great as a typical first single, but I think it was necessary and gives a great sense of where he’s been at mentally since even before Relapse. For someone who was notorious about sharing details of his personal life through his music, this is one of the most honest songs he’s done about himself as an artist. Interested to see what else he has to offer with this album.
Nov 10, 2017 Voted 5 Em just sounds like a sensitive, whiny old b---- tbh. And I'm really not about to listen to him with a Beyoncé hook about Jesus. Production is good tho it a little too barebones at times
Nov 10, 2017 Never thought it would but the 3rd and 4th listen actually kind of grows on me. Wtfffff at that ending tho lol
Nov 10, 2017 I think this song was like ok im down rn and the ending was the intro to say f--- it I'm back (again)
Nov 10, 2017 i think it will be some sort of transition into another song or this will be the intro to the album .
Nov 10, 2017 @Michael Myers i was saying it as a joke but this may end up as being eminem's best album
Nov 10, 2017 Great content and lucidity I actually really like the anti-melodramatic tone he's been using since MMLP2, kinda deconstructing the anger, the teenage s---, the gimmick mythology of "Slim Shady". Too bad he can't make good music anymore, this had potential. It's a 2/10 song, uninteresting and unpleasant to listen to ; delivery's off, he barely raps, he sounds like a robot, etc you all probably already said all this
Nov 10, 2017 He kinda did this type of reflection before, didn't he? No Apologies (2006) Legacy (2013) Cocaine (2010) @Koolo , thanks for this man. For me this is one of Em's top20
Nov 10, 2017 I just can't fathom how bad his flow is. Like the Storm freestyle, the content is great but jesus he can't even stay on a beat as simple as this. this new flow may even be worse than the triple cadence one.
Nov 10, 2017 I think it would be completely pointless to step up his delivery and flow in a track that he is actually trying to get the point across that he is not ideal. I think his "cyphery" flow over emotional beat was on purpose. Mad respect Marshall.
Nov 10, 2017 I'm not expecting so much of him tho Didn't u listen to his song stop setting the bar so high!!!!!
Nov 10, 2017 you allude to a funny point we just discussed: at a minimum, Shady Records people are monitoring our debates about Eminem, his foibles as an artist... and relayed them to him in some way yes? We're fourth generation of Proof's message board after all. And @Koolo has been on their radar for awhile. I get where you're coming from re: voice/flow... to a point. (At least flow.) But I think my comparison to 4:44 stands. They're wildly different rappers, but it's so clear Jay has a lost more than a step on his skills... and I didn't read POTW, p4k or ANYONE in the critical community call it out. shameful. love u em
