Still can’t put those together. One is a album, 2 are freestyles, one is a feature, and one is a song. Tbh eminem BET was bigger than jay-z dropping an album

Objectively wrong, Jay Z is one of the greatest hip hop artists of all time.

Due to your inability to see this ur opinion holds little weight and I may determine u are a stan

obviously Hov. Not even close. Em had a phenomenal run like 15 years ago then had one of the worst fall offs in hip hop history. Hov has been more or less consistently great for 20+ years

When people say stuff like Jay Z sucks or Jay Z is a simple rapper, that says a lot about that persons knowledge and understanding of rap

Em never fell off. It's just some people saying he did. First of all, u can't just say it's not even close. It's kinda close. Eminem doesn't really have a bad album except Relapse and even there are people considering Relapse his best post hiatus work. Eminem's prime is definitely a lot better than not only Jay's but any other rapper's prime.

Encore my friend, Encore is the only below average Eminem album. Relapse is a cult classic. Eminem actually has a very good discography. Up there with Jay

    Disorderly Progress What's cookin?

    No.

I have said I think he's extremely overrated though and doesn't deserve to be in the top 5, as a lyricist.

When it comes to the 'simple' comment, what I actually said was that he gets extremely praised even by critics - for what would otherwise be - very simple lyricism. For any otherwise-above-average rapper. Or even average rapper.

Jay-Z has made, I think, compelling; beautiful, interesting music... but I don't think he's close to Eminem (comparing peak to peak btw.) as a writer, vocal artist, innovative thinker... none of it. His best is extremely basic, artistically too - compared to Eminem's best.
