Nov 15, 2017Agreed.
MMLP2 had some of his best writing and rapping.
But as an album - it's a---.
Annoying too because "Vegas", "Psychopath Killer"... they sound in align with "Rap God", stylistically and vibe wise they also feel like "mmlp 2.0" - with the casual menace, rattling through insults and making fun of f----- up s--- in society but with a relaxed cleverness... not yelling out cheesy lines like "So Much Better"... totally at odds with that vibe.
It's just one of the biggest cases of 'what could have been'. If only he didn't pick such a s-----y mix of tracks to try and please everyone.

Recovery is an incredibly underrated album. People are only now starting to see how good Relapse is but Recovery is also very good album.
Relapse - 9/10
Recovery- 7/10 -

Say what you want about Relapse & Recovery but in terms of cohesiveness they blow MMLP2 out the water...take out some of the flawed moments in both albums and your left with two very different but interesting themes which carry through a storyline which creates an album in its entirety. The MMLP2 had no real theme other than rehashing a project that could never be competed with. I feel that even though Relapse & Recovery could never touch his earlier work, it was still a progression for post hiatus Eminem. I just think that unless Revival has a theme or storyline it will just get lost and forgot about.Twenty One, Ids5621, Koke and 3 others like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

people also need to stop comparing albums, am I the only one who doesn't do that? Just rate them as standalone projects as they are wtfgdot, PistolPistol, K18 El Duderino and 1 other person like this. -

What's really frightening is how he said "if theres anything you have left to say unless it makes an impact dont bother... better make sure you're packing a wallop" but then the rest of the album doesn't really do anything. No impact. There's nothing about the album that resembles MMLP and it has no central theme or atmosphere like Relapse and Recovery do.Ids5621, K18 El Duderino and Disorderly Progress like this.
