Nov 29, 2017 I don't think it belongs anywhere near a top 25 list but I think calling it trash is a little much.
Nov 29, 2017 jay-z is gonna be in D.C. tonight. i've never seen him live. heard he's a very good live performer. i wish i could go, but i won't be able to make it. sucks too because given his age, he probably won't be touring much longer
Nov 29, 2017 this is also very true. Very good, but VERY VERY VERY overrated. When people drop it as the best in their opinion its to sound like they know whats up.
Nov 29, 2017 Well, as Ben said it's hard to find a close analogy cuz we're comparing one genre that primarily exists in one country that's been around for 40 years to a whole medium that's been around for 100 in many countries. But the reason why my gut said 'no' is because I don't think a serious rap critic would scoff at MBDTF in the top 25 but a serious film critic would scoff at shawshank in a top 25 list. basically: MBDTF, I would say, is in the upper echelon of rap. shawshank is not in the upper echelon of film. but they're definitely both common mainstream picks for #1 by people with a limited scope on their respective medium/genre.
Nov 29, 2017 Stfu I was on shawahank d-ck WAYYYYYYYYYY before it became mainstream. I was watchibg that s--- all the time on vhs Also i can school you on movies f--- boi
Nov 29, 2017 I assume that's what he meant but I think even that analogy falls apart: Kane completely innovated a lot of techniques that would become foundational to film. Illmatic altered existing formulas.
