So his streams are also going down on Spotify. This is definitely flopping hard.
@TheReturn , this could perhaps make Eminem go in that direction we discussed yesterday

That doesn't mean s---. Albums nowadays would go number 1 with 70-80k units many weeks of the year. So any big artist who would do 150k+ first week is gonna be number one on those charts for a few days after he releases his album.

Cole, Kendrick, and Drake have all sold more with their two most recent albums. Jay Z and Logic and even Meek Mill also came close to 280k with their most recent albums. And Future also did more than this on the joint mixtape with Drake.

This is a flop. It's already sinking on the streaming charts. Two days after release.

Dropped from 2 to 5 on Spotify USA charts. A drop of 200k in streams after 2 days.

Read through this thread just now.

@TheReturn is the most deluded Drake stan ive seen in a while. You do realise Kendrick is actually bigger than Drake now.
Eminem is flopping but no one can compare to how big he was in 00-02. Forget streams. Kendrick has killed Drake in 2017.

This flops because is bad music.
Yeah i know some artists release s--- (gucci g---)
But, look kendrick, the guy is focused in create art not some popish s--- for the radio. They give to hip hop community amazing music and he made his name in the game for that. People hear that, word of mouth marketing.
Nobody cares a song of eminem dissing trump ft alicia keys, beyonce, pink, rihanna, adele, ed sheeran if is bad music, people dont want hear that. Look MMLP, TES are pure rap album and they are amazing, they are art. Hip Hop isnt pop and Eminem isnt Justin Bieber.
I think recovery was a perfect album for 2010 and a great comeback for marshall at that time, but another recovery in 2017...the game has changed.

*Sigh* no he didn't and he never will. That's the (pure sales) albums Chainsmokers have sold throughout this whole year. Eminem is doing close to that in his first week

The industry has changed though. HipHop back then was just as big, if not bigger than, Pop music. Its the other way around right now. Dance/DJ's is/are what HipHop/rappers was/were back then.

Yeah the "heres a fun beat and a couple of good lines aling with filler lines" type of rap that has become part of Pop music. I dont consider Young Thug or Drake HipHop. HipHop was so big back then, even pop artists became rappers. Rappers right now are on the level of those f---ers.

In our country nobody knows migos, thug or future really. Thug is the dude on havana.

In us they are much bigger though.

I dunno I can enjoy both old school and new rap. Future and thug music is great in clubs but unfortunately here we mostly get s-----y dance songs lol
