Revival wasn't a flop as per industry standards, it only looks like a flop since Em has never sold anything below 500k ever since he became a star(He sold 283k with SSLP tho, but it was his debut).
As much as I like this album, the music wasn't going to appeal to a huge variety of audience. Pop rap doesn't sell well in 2017. The Trump thing backfired. No matter who it was who suggested that Em go after Trump (maybe it was himself), was a dumbass. And all the heights of being a dumbass was crossed when he said f--- off to like almost half of his fans.
Poor a--- promotion, Revival site that only could be decoded by us hardcore Stans didn't help either. Repetitive L's and lack of updates from Paul threw a lot of people off and they lost interest. Finally single choices were wack. Wow is great as a song, Untouchable is somewhat decent, but they aren't great choices for singles.
No album is a flop intentionally, espicially when it comes to Em.
Just wait for the next step he takes to fix it and see if he bounces back or not.KennethK, David26, indyj22 and 1 other person like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

Why would they flop on album on purpose?
Also the theory falls apart by the very fact there's so many unauthentic pop features / clear 'hit grabs' on there.
If it was like a Relapse, you'd have more of a theory here.
But when you feature Beyonce on your first single. Just 'because Bey'... then get every of the 100 pop stars to mention their features and post the album / a pic, like a planned marketing move... there's no intended flop going on.eminemson, Ids5621, David26 and 1 other person like this. -

Are you seriously this delusional.
- No, they didn't make it flop on purpose, eminem just doesn't know what good music sounds like anymore.
Can we talk about how he took Pinks song and put it on his album as a filler(This ad goes away when signing up) -

Like Home should of dropped right after the BET cypher with a music video. Then River should have been the 2nd single. What I dont understand is how there was not a music video before this album dropped.
